MINUTES - Council - 19120108) THE F I R S T M E E T I N G 0 F T llEE C 0 U N C I L F 0 R I 9 I 2 The first meeting of the Council was held in the Council Room for 1912 on I.ionday January 8th, at 11 o'clock in the forenoon. The Following !(,embers presented themselves and signed the Declaration of Office and took their ~eats ;-Namely W. J. Baldv'.'in, Zsq, Mayor. VI. J. Knowles, Esq, Reeve. Councillors;- w. Mitchell, Esq The Council were introduced to the Mayor and business was at once proceeded with. First Meeting Continued• .. 1 communication was received from Mr Viili li. Birchard complaining that an intoxica.ted man was in the habit of visiting his power house almost nightly and asking the Council to do Som'llthing to prevent him coming there. Bills were received from the following persons;- The Clerk, Election expenses $36.50 Stiver Bros, Coal for town hall and fletch 10.80 Walter lllachell, Brick bats and tile 13.50 Banner Press, Printing 18.00 F. J. l\lclially, Extra insurance on Town Hall 1. 50 Moved by r:lr Bassett seconded by Nr Ic\itchell that the following ac accounts be paid that the r.1ayor issue orders on the Treasurer for the same and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution/ The Clerk Stiver Bros Walter I:lachell Banner Press F. Moved by Mr Knowles seconded by l:lr lilanning that the Clerk be and he is hereby instructed to advertise for tenders for ten toise of stone to be dlivered in Aurora as directed by Deputy Chief Dunham tenders to be in the Clerks hs.nds on or before January 15th 1 Carried Leave vvas asked to introduce bylaws to aproint Auditors to audit the r.lunicipal and School accounts for 1911, to appoint a High School Trustee for the Aurora High School, a Local Board of Health and to borrow mone~r to meet the. currenj; expenditure of the Town until the t taxes levied therefore are paid First meeting of the Council continued Leave granted and bylaws read a first time. Moved by 1\1r Knowles seconded by :r.:r Conover that the bylaws now before the Council be read a imcond an' third time this day and that rule 33 of bylaw No 16 be suspended for that purpose Carried. Bylaws read a seconi time and Council went into committee of the whole on the same li'lr Bassett in the chair. Con~ittee rose and reported bylaws with blanks filled. Bylaws read a third time and passed. Councllll adjourned to meet at the call of the I;1ayor.
