The seventh meeting of the Council for 1912 was held in the Clerks
office on Wednesday evening February 14th, 1912, the following
members being p:eesent;-Namely Mayor Baldwin, Reeve 'lhowlea,
and Councillors Bailalrett, Browning, ili:i.tohell and r,ranning?
ll[ayor Baldwin in the chair.
The Mayor explained the object of the meeting was to give the
Tannery Bylaw the first and second reading.
The Chairman of the by-law Committee asked leave to introduce a
to grant a bonus of ten thousand dollars ($10.000) to the Callis
Leather Company to build· a Tannery, purchase land ! ct for the
purpose of manufacturing leather in the Town of Aurora.
Leave granted and By-Law read a first time.
Moved by !:ir Knowles seconded by r:lr manning thst the by-law now
before the Council be read a s:econd time this day and tha~ rule
33 of bylaw No 10 be suspended for that purpose
Carried.
Bylaw read a second time and Co1mcil went mlilto Co!lllni ttee of the
whole on the same I;lr Knowles in the chair.
Committee rose and reported bylaw with blanks filled and asked
leave to sit again.
Council adjourned to meet at the call of the Ic!ayor.
