FOURTEENTH M E E T I N G 0 F T H E C 0 U N C I L
F 0 R I 9 I O.
The Fourteenth Meeting of the 6ouncil for I9IO was held in the
Council Chamber on Wednesday Evening October 5th, the following l1embers
being present;-namely the Mayor, Reeve and Councillors Brodie
Bassett, Murray, Scrivener, Stevenson and Towns. The Mayor in the
Ch~odr,
The Minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed,
A Communication was received from T!lrs C. A. Petch asking the Council
to paper the sitting room at the Water Works house.
Alse from Miss Pearson teacher in one of the departments of the
Public ~chool asking the Council to furnish books for a certain family
in town.
Mr H, D. Lundy was heard in regard to requesting the Council to
ask the Toronto & York Radial ~ailway to restore the stop at the foot
of Kennedy Street.
Bills were received from
Thomas Cannon, pump spoiled by street watering com. ~I4.25
B. F. Davdf3/ Work on road 9.60
Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by Mx Dr Scrivener that the
fill lowing account be paid, namely T. Cannon, · ~pi4. 25
Carried.
IvToved by Dr Scrivener seconded by l<ir John W/ Stevenson
the request of Mrs Petch to have a room in the pumping heuse
papered be left in the hands of th e. 'Hater Works Committee.
Carried.

Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by T.\r Towns that the following be a to
interview the Underhill Shoe Co in accordance with their request for
an interview;-namely Mayor Baldwin and Councillors Brodie and Scrivenl!l'
and that the seal of the Corporation be attached to this resolution/
Carried.
Leave was asked to introduce a Bylaw to assess for County, Town
School, Debenture and other purposes.
Fourteenth Meeting Continued.
Leave granted 1ond By-Law road a fir<Sit time.
Moved by: llr Towns seconded by J,:r Bassett that the bylaw now before
the Council be read a second and third time this d~o<y und that rule
33 of bylaw No IO be suspended for that purpose
Carried.
Bylae read a second time 'and Council went into Committee of the
whole on the same ~1rBrodie in the chair.
Committee on motion rose and reported by"j.aw with blanks filled.
Bylaw read a third time and passed
Uoved by I!ir Knowles seconded by :tlr 11urray that the Cler.k be and is
hereby instructed to hand the Collectors Roll over to Hr Petch when
he has furnished the proper bonds to the satisfaction of the J,iayor.
Carried.
Leave wus asked to introduce a bylaw to authorize the Mayor and
Treasurer to borrrow money to meet the curnmt expenditure untill the·
taxes are collected.
Leave granted and Bylaw read a first time.
Moved by Dr Scrivener seconded by l.lr bassett that the Bylaw now
before the Council be read a second and third time this day and that
rule 33 of bylaw No IO b~ suspended for that purpose
Carried.
Bylaw read a second time and Council went into Committee of the

town of Aurora•
