The tenth meeting of the Council for I909 was held ·on Friday
evening May 2Ist in the Council room the following Members being
present: ·the Mayor, Reeve and Councillors Bond, Bassett, Browning,
and Querrie. The Mayor in the chair.
Minutes of last meeting read and confirmed.
Accounts were received and read from the following persons:
F. Browning, repairing plastering in waterworks $I.75
B. McKenzie, watching at Dunnings fire 2,00
Moved by Mr Bassett seconded by Mr Bond that the following accounts
be paid that the Mayor issue orders for the same and that the seal of
the Corporation be attached to this resolution:

The Chairman of the Road & Bridge Committee asked leave to present
a report,
Leave granted and report read and Council went i•to committee
of the whole on the same the Reeve in the chair.
Committee rose and reported report as amended and recommended the
adoption of the report.
Report adopted by the Council.
Council adjourned to meet at the call of the Mayor.

The first meeting of the Court of Revision for the town of Aurorawas
held in the Council Room on Tuesday June Ist the following members
being present, Mayor Baldwin, Reeve Knowles and Councillor Bassett/
Moved by Mayor Baldwin seconded by Mr Bassett that 1\lr Knowles be
appointed chairman for this court for I909.
Carried.
The following Appeals were then heard;
Iilrs Pickering that her Assessment on house and lot was too high/
Appeal not sustained and dismissed.
Charles Bailey that the assessment on his lot on George street was
too high,
Appeal sustained an~ assessment lowered $25,00
Alfred Snowdon as executor for the Wells estate appealed against the
assessment of the two .stor.es. on Well.ington Street as too high.
Appeal sustained ani the assessment was lowred ~400,0o
Fred Boynton appealed that the assessment of his house and lot at the
south end of the town on Joage street was too high.
Appeal not sustained and dismissed,
William Dunning appealed the assessment on his fa~ pro~erty was too
high
Appeal not sustained and dismissed.
William Linton Appealed that the assessment on his farm property on
yonge street aouth was too high.
Appeal not sustained and dismissed.
Arthur Brooksbank appealed against the assessmen of his farm property
at the south end of the town was too high,
appeal not sustained and &ismissed.
Appeal sustained and the acerage ofhis farm reduced
and assessmen reduced i;IOO.OO.

Court Of Revision continued.
Henry Isaacs appealed that the assessment of his hotel property at
the east end on ~ellington street was too high.
Appeal not sustained and dismissed.
D. E. Hamer appealed the assessment of his farm prQ£erty on Yonge
street was too high.

Mrs William Holliday appealed that the assessment of her lot on
George Street was too high and there was too much land assessed to her
Appeal was sustained and ·assessment lowred $25.00
Mrs Eliza Boynton appealed the assessment of her property on Yonge
street was too high.
Appeal not sustained and dismissed.
The Co~rt then adjourned to Meet on Monday evening June 7th at 7,50

The Adjourner Court of Revision met on 11londay evening June 7th, I909.
Members present, }myorb Baldwin, Reeve knowles and Councillor Bassett,
Reeve Knowles in the chair.
On motion the appeal of Thomas Roberts was reconsidered and it was
moved that the two and onehalf acres struck off his assessment at the
previous meeting be again added also that the reduction of $Ioo·.oo
made in his assessment in concequenoe be again added and his former
assmssment confirmed.
The Appeal of D. R. Hamer which was adjourned from last meeting was
not sustained and the former assessment confirmed.
The Court then adjourned to meet at the call of the Chairman.
