MINUTES-Court of Revision-19491122I ' • COURT OF REVISION, November 22nd (ASSESSMENT) 1949 The court of Revision to hear appeals against the 1950 Assessment was held in the Council Chambers of Nov~ 22 1949 at 8.00 p.m. Members present; Mayor Rose; Reeve Cook; Dep.Reeve Cprner; Councillors Jones; Davies; Murray; Pringle; Glass. The request or the McColl*Frontenac .Oil Co. Ltd. tor a rebate or 1949 Business Tax was heard, whereby the Company had ceased to do business at their bulk station on Ross St. _as of May 31st 1949. The appeal was tor 7/12 ot the total business tax paid. MURRAY, DAVIES; That the appeal of the.McColl-Frontenac Oil Co.Ltd tor 7/12 or a total business tax paid in 1949 or $94.56 be rebated to the Compan$1 namely the amount or 155~16~ Carried~ Alex.Moa:r.te~ Harrison Ave.~ appealing the $100 increase in assessment on the grounds that no improvements had been made on the house~ GLASS, DAVIES; That this appeal be held over tor further consideration to be decided on later. ( the decision being made later in the evening) The appeals or Mrs~ W~J.SiSman; .Dr~ C~R.Boulding, Dr~E.J.Hende.rson and Stanley Walker were_heard Jointly, as all were appealing a similar assessment on the same grounds. . Each party was asked to speak on his own behalt,with Dr. Henderson speaking tor Dr. Boulding, who could not be present tor the Court. After due consideration or the appeals and several comparistons of land assessment in the immediate vicinity the following motion was passed~ CORNER, DAVIES; That the Assessment ld appeals of Dr. Boulding be reduced 1'1 from $1200.00 to 140ft.at 6~00, tinal amount 140.00 · _ Dr~ Henderson assessment or $1200~00 be reduced to 140ft at 6.oo~ ·-1 final amount $840.00 · t'1 Stanley Walker assessment or $1200~00 be reduced to 139ft at 6.oo, final amount $834~00 ~Mrs~ Loks Siswaa assessment or $1200.00 be reduced to .134tt at 6 •• oo, · ·final amount 1804. 00 · .
