BY-LAW TO PROVIDE FOR THE NOli!INAffiiON OF CHNDIDATES AND FOR THE ELECTION
OF THE MEMBERS OF THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL AND OF THE REQUIRED TRUSTEES OF
THE SCHOOL BOARD AND OF THE REQUIRED l\IEJI!BER OF THE HYDRO-ELECTRIC COMMISSION
FOR THE ENSUING TF~ OF OFFICE.
WHEREAS the Mtmicipal Act provides that 1\lo meeting shall
take place for the nomination_ for Mayor, Reeve, Deputy Reeve and councillors
in Tows.s on the last Monday in December, except where it is Christmas Day,
and in that case the meeting shall be held on the preceding Friday and that
the Council may by B:y-Law. provide that such meeting maybe held at half past
seven o'clock in the afternoon.
AND lVEEREAS .by the provisions of the Public School Act,
the Hoard of an urban Municipality ma9, by resolution, of which written noticefJ}J.
shall be given to the Clerk of the Municipality pursuant to the Act, require
the election of public sahool trustees to be held by ballot on the same
day as Municipal Councillors are elected.
AND WHEREAS by the provisions of The Public Utili ties Act
the members of a commission established under Part 111 of that Act shall be~ 1frd.
elected at the same time and place and in the same manner as the head of the
Council.
THEREFORE THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWN OF AURORA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the meeting for the nomination of all c~didates for
the Municipal Council and for .the Aurora Public School Board and for The
Hydro Electric Commission of the Town of Aurora ~for the ensuing term
of office shall be held at the Mechanic's Hall, Aurora, on Friday, the 22nd
day of December, 1944, at 7.30 o'clock, D.S •. !['. in the afternoon.
2. That, if more candidates are nominated for an office than
are to be elected1 the Returning Officer shall adjourn the proceedings until J 1 j
the 1st day of January, 1945, on which day an election shall be held and the

polls shall be opened in each polling subdivision between the hours of nine
o'clock in the morning and six G'clock in the afternoon, D.S.T. at the following
place or places.
