' ,_) BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW 862 OF THE SAID CORPORATION. WHEREAS by-law number 862 provides for the rules and reg- ulations according to which the proceedings of the Council of the Corpor~tion shall be governed and conducted. AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend the said By-Law. THEREFORE THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TO\VN OF AURORA ENACTS AS liOLLOWS: l. Subsection 3 o£ Section 26 of By-Law 862 is repealed and the following substituted therefore: "3•Sports and Publicity". Section 26 of the said By-Law 862 is further amended by addij. 1 ~-2. thereto the £allowing subsection: .. " S• Post-War Planning. 3. (i) Section 29 of the said By-Law 862 is amended by striking out the words, ''The Electric Light Committee shall deal with all matters re- lating to electrical power and energy required by the MUnicipality, all equip- ment and accessories connected therewith, including installations, erection and maintenance o£ the same, and rates and charges £or such power and energy supplied to all consumers and, also, including any land and buildings used ex- elusively fOl' electrical purposes," commencing in the fourth line thereof and ending in the. ninth line thereof and inserting in lieu thereof the following: "The Sports and Publicity Committee. shall assist in any reasonable way in the organization o£ sports and in bringing about a better community life in the Town, and shall take whatever means of advertising as may appear reason- able and necessary to interest people and industl"tes to locate ~n tile Towt). of Aurora." ---,--,--, .. ,-, .. 1 . Plalllling Comlilittee shall co-operate with any Dominion , Provincial or County Committee or Committees, formed for the purpose, in working out ways and means of re-establishing the men of the Services on their return after the war and, in general, to assist in creating work for all and of formulating plans for better social and living c ondi ti on s after the war." . ~~ Dated at the Town Hall, Aurora, this/ day of February, 1944.
