BYLAW - To Strike the Rates fo rthe Year 1943 - 19430503 - 89243/ BY -LAW N'Ulv!BER of the Municipal Corporation of the TO'\m of' Aurorao A BY-LAW TO STRIKE THE RATES IN THE TOWN OF AURORA FOR THE YEAR 1943. VIHEREAS estimates have been prepared showing that the sum of $65,682,36 is required to be raised for the lawful purposes of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora, during the period 1943 made up as follows: General purpose including estimated abate- ments and deficiencies in collection and Public School Board and High School Board County of York levy Social Service General Municipal Debentures $12,517.13 15,890.00 8,850.00 5,644,75 800.00 ' AND WHS..BEAS there is required to be raised for special t{. n ;J,_. ~ purposes the sum of $3707.95 for pavement debentures and the sum of $3456.07 ~ i for sewerage debentures under The Local Improvement Act. There shall be struc~, rated, levied and collected upon the assessable t1-~-~ land, buildings and business assessment the following rates: General Town Purposes County Purposes Public School Purposes High School Purposes Social Service Wellington St.E. Paving Deben. No.20 Street Paving and resurfacing No.l5 Yonge St. Paving Railway Strip Arena Debenture, No. 13 H.S. Deben. There shall be struck, rated, levied and collected a special rate per foot frontage against the various properties fronting on pavements to raise the amount of $3707.95 required under The Local Improvement Act by the To•vn's various paving By-laws, such rates to be in accordance with the requirements of the said By- laws and the Collector's Roll shall provide accordingly. 3. There shall be struck, rated, levied and collected a further special rate per foot frontage to raise the sum of $3456.07 to cover the ratepayer's share of ~ the cost of the Corporation's sewerage system, such rate to be in accordance with the rates and against the properties decided by the Court of Revision held for such pur- poses and the Collector's Roll shall provide accordingly. 4. The said rates may be paid, without discount or penalty 0 at . ' after the 15th day of August, 1943, and on or before the 14th day of December, any time 1943. .{j· ?1-iT.J 5o Any ratepayer who shall PS¥ the whole or &JY portion of the said rates. on or before the 15th day of May, 1943, shall be .auowed a discount of two percent /fl-n.:;. !. on the amount so paid and any ratepayer who shall pay the whole or any portion of the said rates after the 15th day of May, 1943, and on or before the 15th day of August, 1943, shall be allowed a disaount of one percent o.n the amount so paid• s. That the statutory penalty and interest shall be charged on all of the rates not paid by the 15th day of ~~ember, 1943, and suah penalty and interesta .J1 . .::7v shall be levied and oolleated by the Collector or Treasurer as if the same had been originally imposed and formed part of the s~id rates. 7. The Clerk shall prepare a,Ild deliver the Colleator's Roll to the q.?1~~ Collector on or before the 1st day of Oatober, 1943. a. The Collector is hereby authorized to mail or aause to be mailed the notiae provided for by Section of t¥ Assessment Act to the address of the resideooe or plaae of business of the person to whom such notice is required to be given. 9. The Collector shall if any instalment of taxes remains tmpaid for. CJ. n' ~ more than fourteen days after the date of ~yment thereof forthwith proaeed to collect by distress or otherwise, under the provisiqns of the Statute in that behalf, all such taxes in default, together with the percentage thereon hereby imposed for such default. the 1st The Collector shall return his Roll to the Treasurer on or. before ~ . . 4~ . day of February, 1944, and furnish to the.
