MINUTES - Committee of the Whole - 19900604MINUTES TOWN OF AURORA COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING NO. 27-90 Senior Citizens' Building Monday, June 4, 1990 7:30 p.m. COUNCIL MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE Councillor Mcintyre in the Chair; Mayor West, Councillors Jones, McKenzie, Pedersen, Stewart and Timpson. Councillor Weller absent on vacation; Councillor Ochalski absent due to attendance at Conference. STAFF MEMBERS IN ATTENDANCE Chief Administrative Officer, Clerk, Acting Deputy Clerk, Director of Building Administration, Director of Public Works. DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST There were no disclosures of Interest under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act, 1983. APPROVAL OF AGENDA #1. Moved by Councillor Jones Seconded by Councillor McKenzie THAT the content of the Agenda as circulated by the Clerk's Department be approved as outlined herein. CARRIED CORRESPONDENCE AND PETITIONS The Newmarket Era-Banner re: Distribution of Advertising Flyers #2. Moved by Councillor Timpson Seconded by Councillor Jones THAT the correspondence be received as information. CARRIED The Regional Municipality of York re: Keele Valley Landfill Site -Free Disposal Privileges #3. Moved by Councillor Timpson Seconded by Councillor Jones THAT the correspondence be received as information. CARRIED STAFF REPORTS CL90-018-175 -Parking Concerns -Royal Road, Dunning Avenue, Gurnett Street, Victoria Street, York Region School Board -Bus Loading #4. Moved by Mayor West Seconded by Councillor Pedersen THAT the parking concerns related to Royal Road, Dunning Avenue, Victoria Street, Gurnett Street, Mosley and Wells Street be adopted as recommended, and concerned residents -be notified of said changes; and Aurora Committee of the Whole Minutes No. 27-90 Monday, June 4, 1990 - 2 - THAT the amended By-law 2613-83 be presented to Council for their consideration. CARRIED PL90-076-176 -Remnant Tree Stand, Part of Lot 84/85 Con 1 E.Y.S., eavertop #5. Moved by Councillor Pedersen Seconded by Councillor Stewart THAT the Owner of the above noted property be allowed to remove the trees with the provision that additional planting around the well site be required upon construction of the well site; and THAT the Regional Engineering Department be requested to provide the Town of Aurora with the design of the well site and proposed landscaping. CARRIED PW90-036-177-Soil Preservation By-law #6. Moved by Councillor Pedersen Seconded by Councillor Jones THAT a By-law be prepared and submitted to Council to regulate the removal of topsoil in the Town of Aurora. QUESTIONS BY MEMBERS Councillor Mcintyre ADJOURNMENT #7. Moved by Councillor Jones CARRIED -Could a drop-off box for payment of water bills and tax bills be made available for residents in the central part of Town. -The Chief Administrative Officer suggested Staff could investigate the issue.
