MINUTES - Committee of the Whole - 19580703135 A MEETING OF COUNCIL IN A COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBER ON THURSDAY, JULY Jrd, 1958 AT 8.00 P.R. MAYOR: REEVE: DEPUTY REEVE: COUNCILLORS: D.J. MURRAY (IN THE CHAIR) C.F. DAVIS C.K. NISBET ADAIR, CHILD, CORBETT, DAVIDSON, AND PATRICK. Also present were: Mr. G.U. Proctor of Proctor and Redfern Mr. J.A. Marrese Re: Elevated trunk sewer across Aurora Heights property Mayor Murray stated that council w·cnild~like to see the elevated se,rer dam removed at no cost to the To~om. Mr. J.A. Marrese would like to see it removed at no cost to himself. Mr. Don Redfern of Proctor & Redfern stated that this sewer was considered better than inverted syphon originally planned. Deputy Reeve Nisbet stated that he gave Wimpey a set of plansin October of 1957. Mr. J .A. Marrese 1 s Engineers feel this type of se1-1er is the best for use although maybe not for appearance. Mr. G.U. Proctor stated that over another section sei1er could be installed on stilts. ~w. J.A. Marrese stated that in regards to the bond he has prepared an assignment of Wimpey 1 s Bond over to the To1m. He is prepared to pay the full $7,000,00 if the Tovm excepts the bond and other guarantee. Mr. G.u. Proctor stated that Wimpey•s contract covers sewer, 't'Tater- '-~--mains, and gravelled roads. There is yet to come the surface treatment on 66 1 roads and asphalt on Aurora Heights Drive that are not covered by the contract. The Town will require assignment of an agreement that Aurora Heights idll enter into a contract ,for surface treatment and curbs and sidewalks by May 15, 1959 and sign over this bond to the To•m. Mr. J.A. Marrese agreed to pay $7,000,00 within a period of 6 weeks, and the Town ;.Jill use this money to remove the present se11rer and install a new sewer in a more favourable location. Mr. Marrese also stated that when we take into consideration the model homes and no,r find that we are two semis over the 40 allow·ed. The Committee of the Whole granted permission to build these extra tw·o semis. NISBET: II That w·e adj0urn." The meeting then adjourned. ~-,,. "'
