ATTENDANCE
COMMITTEE MEMBERS Mayor Jones in the Chair; Councillors Hartwell, Healy,
Hinder, Hogg, Morris, and West.
Councillors Griffith and McKenzie were absent.
OTHER ATTENDEES Chief Administrative Officer, Director of Corporate
Services/Town Clerk, Director of Planning, Director of
Building Administration, Director of Leisure Services,
Director of Public Works, and Treasurer.
DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
There were no declarations of interest under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
#1. Moved by Councillor West Seconded by Councillor Hartwell
THAT the content of the Agenda be approved as outlined herein.

PRESENTATIONS
Barbara Cribbett, Treasurer re: 2000 Operating Budget Draft #1
The Treasurer presented an overview of the 2000 Operating Budget and highlighted a
number of issues that will have an impact on the proposed budget.

STAFF REPORTS
TR99-038-343 – 2000 Operating Budget – Draft #1
#2. Moved by Councillor Hartwell Seconded by Councillor Healy
THAT Report TR99-38-343, 2000 Operating Budget – Draft #1 be
received for information.
CARRIED
#3. Moved by Councillor Healy Seconded by Councillor Hinder
THAT the additional $40,000 reserve for future OMB Hearings not be
identified at the present time, and that in the event a shortfall should
occur, it will be addressed at that time.
CARRIED
#4. Moved by Councillor Healy Seconded by Councillor West
THAT $5,000 be allocated to the GIS program.
CARRIED
#5. Moved by Councillor West Seconded by Councillor Hartwell
THAT $5,000 be included in the budget for Council and General
Administration part-time staff.
CARRIED
#6. Moved by Councillor West Seconded by Councillor Healy
THAT staff provide a list of all funds that have been placed in the reserve
accounts, and that these funds be dealt with at the beginning of the next
budget meeting;
AND further that staff report on the legislation related to amalgamation and
its impact on the budgets of existing municipalities.

#7. Moved by Councillor West Seconded by Councillor Morris
THAT staff continue the line by line review of the budget, as well as
discretionary services;
AND further that staff provide a sampling of tax amounts based on various
assessment levels.
