With the permission of the Engineer or Inspector, two adjoining buildings may be drained through one 6-inch sew- er. In such cases, the 6-inch pipe shall run from the public sewer in the street to the street line or point where the two separate drains connect. 4. NOTIFICATION. Before proceeding to construct, re -construct, or alter any portion of the drainage, plumbing or ventilation of any house or building, the owner or his agent shall notify through the Town Clerk's Office, the Engineer, or Inspector. s No workman engaged to construct, re -construct,, or alter any portion of such drainage, plumbing or ventilation shall do any wore in connection with smch construction, re-construe- tion, or alteration until such master plumber, plumber or workman has satisfied himself than the owner has filed such notice with the Engineer or Inspector. 5. LICENSES REQUIRED, No pe son shall undertake or carry on the work of constructing any house sewer connection or any line of sew- er pipe connected with, or to be connected with, the public sanitary sewer unless such person has first obtained a license or written permission from the municipality author- izing him to carry on the work of sewer construction and no person shall undertake or carry on the work of plumbing or of constructing or installing any part of the plumbing or sanitary fixtures or appliances in or in connection with any building or place unless such person has first obtained a license from the Council authorizing him to carry on the business of plumber, and unless such license is in force. } I 6. APPLICATION FOR LICENSES. Any person desiring a license to carry on the work of sewer construction or carry on the business of plumber shall file with the Clerk an application for such license accom- panied with the fee herewith specified. Upon the receipt of such, awDlication the Clerk shall deliver the same to the ` Engineer or Inspector, who shall return the application to the Clerk with a report to the Council as to the qualification of the applicant to carry on the work in question, and his familiarity with this by-law. Such application shall be thereupon brought by the Clerk before the Council at its next ensuing meeting. The license shall be in such form as may be prescribed by the Council and may be granted by resolution. 2 7. JOURNEY -MAN PLUMBER REGISTRATION. Within one month after the passage of this by-law, every man at work in the Town of Aurora as a journey -man plumber shall register with the Town Clerk or other persons appointed by the Council, his age, residence, name of pres- ent employer, and the length of time he has been at work as journey -man plumber, and any journey -man plumber who is not employed as such, but may desire to be so employed in this Town hereafter must before commencing work comply with the foregoing regulations; and further, that a fee of twenty-five cents be charged for registration of such name. 8. LICENSE FEES. The fee for license to carry on the work of sewer construction shall be One Dollar for residents, and Twenty - Five Dollars for non-residents, and the fee of such license to carry on business as a plumber shall be, One Dollar for residents, and Twenty -Five Dollars for non-residents. 9. LICENSE;S, RENEWALS AND CANCELLATION. Every license hereunder shall remain in. force for one year, but may be cancelled by the Co'ca,ncil at any time with- out notice. Unless cancelled or suspended, any license may be renewed by the Clerk from year to year without a new application upon payment of the above fee specified. 10. WORKMEN. The whole of the work shall be done by skilled mechanics, who shall be subject to removal by order of t-he Engineer or Inspector, if not considered qualified or not efficient, and the Engineer or Inspector is to be the sole judge of the work and, his decision on all points shall be - final. 11. WORKMANSHIP. All work shall be executed in accordance with the specifications for labor and materials under which the public sewers were constructed, so far as they are consistent with this by-law, 12. MATERIALS.
