By-law Number 6797-26
Being a By-law to amend By-law Number 6450-22, as amended, to include
Administrative Monetary Penalty provisions.
Whereas Section 434.1 of the MunicipalAct, 2001, s.o. 2001, c.25, as amended (the
"Municipal Act") authorizes municipalities to establish an administrative monetary
penalty system requiring a person to pay an administrative penalty for a contravention of
any designated by-law;
And whereas The Corporation of the Town of Aurora (l'Town") has created By-law
Number 6450-22, as amended, to establish administrative monetary penalties to assist
the municipality with promoting compliance with its designated by-laws;
And whereas subsection 1l of the Municipal Act provides that a municipality may pass
by-laws relating to public utilities, including matters affecting water distribution, relating
to health, safety and well-being of persons, and relating to services and things that the
municipality is authorized to provide;
And whereas the Town operates and maintains a municipal drinking water system;
And whereas the Council of the Town considers it necessary to designate certain by-laws
or portions of by-laws, set out in Schedule "B", to be subject to the administrative
monetary penalty system of the Town;
Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Aurora hereby enacts as
follows:
1.Schedule l'B" - Administrative Monetary Penalty System - Non-Parking to By-law
Number 6450-22 be amended by adding Table 19, attached, and forming part of
this by-law.
Enacted by Town of Aurora Council this 23rd day of June, 2026.
