Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 6:04 p.m. 2. Land Acknowledgement The Committee acknowledged that the Hearing took place on the Anishinaabe lands, the traditional and Treaty territories of the Chippewas of Georgina Island, recognizing the many other Nations whose presence here continues to this day, and that Aurora has shared responsibility for the stewardship of this land. It was noted that Aurora is part of the treaty lands of the Mississaugas of the Credit, recognized through Treaty #13 and the Williams Treaties of 1923. 3. Approval of the Agenda The Committee approved the agenda as circulated. 4. Declarations of Pecuniary Interest and General Nature Thereof 2 There were no declarations of pecuniary interest under the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. M.50 5. Appeals for Consideration 5.1 15411 Yonge Street - Order to Comply CE20221667 Alexander Wray, Manager of By-law Services provided an overview of the hearing process. Mario Munguia, Case Presenter for the Town, presented evidence including the Order to Comply, a synopsis of the events leading to the hearing and exterior photos of the subject property and outbuilding. They advised that some items from the original Order to Comply had been remediated, and all outstanding items were referenced in Order to Comply CE20221667. The Appellant provided a verbal account of the events leading up to the hearing noting that the dwelling was over 100 years old and some of the issues were not able to be rectified and presented photos of the dwelling as evidence. They requested more time to comply with the Order to ensure due to exterior work on the house being difficult during the winter months. The Committee inquired about aspects of the outbuilding structure and exterior of the dwelling, and general provisions and criteria regarding property standards. The Committee recessed the hearing to deliberate at 8:38 p.m. and reconvened the hearing at 9:13 p.m. Moved By Daniel Lajeunesse Seconded By Linda Duringer 1. That the Property Standards Committee upholds Order to Comply a. Item No. 4 be revised to remove references to the rear fence and read "Exterior - Side Fence"; and 2. That the Appellant be granted an extension until August 31, 2023 in order to comply. Carried 3 5.2 15417 Yonge Street - Order to Comply CE20222092 Mario Munguia, Case Presenter for the Town, presented evidence including the Order to Comply, a synopsis of the events leading to the hearing and interior and exterior photos of the subject property. The Appellant provided a verbal account of the events leading up to the hearing, noting that the clutter around the interior and exterior of the property belonged to a tenant and that they are in the process of taking legal action against the tenant. They requested more time to comply with the Order due to the process length of the Landlord and Tenant Board, and the difficulty to complete renovations in the winter months. The Committee inquired about aspects of the interior and exterior of the dwelling, past conversations with the tenant, the processes surrounding the Landlord and Tenant Board, and general provisions and criteria regarding property standards. The Committee recessed the hearing to deliberate at 10:29 p.m. and reconvened the hearing at 10:41 p.m. Moved By Daniel Lajeunesse Seconded By Linda Duringer 1.
