BYLAW - Amend Business Licensing re Taxicab Meter Rates REPEALED by 5275^10 - 20100713 - 5266^10THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA By-law Number 5266-10 BEING A BY-LAW to Amend the Town's Business Licensing By-law relating to Taxicab Meter Rates. WHEREAS subsection 151(1) of the MunicipalAct, 2001, S.O.2001, c. 25, as amended the "Act"), provides that, without limiting sections 9, 10 and 11 of the Act, a municipality may provide for a system of licences with respect to a business; AND WHEREAS subsection 156(1) of the Act provides that, without limiting sections 9, 10 and 11 of the Act, a local municipality, in a by-law under section 151 with respect to the owners and drivers of taxicabs, may: (a) establish the rates or fares to be charged for the conveyance of property or passengers either wholly within the municipality or from any point in the municipality to any point outside the municipality; (b) provide for the collection of the rates or fares charged for the conveyance; and (c) limit the number of taxicabs or any class of them; AND WHEREAS on April 10, 2001, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Aurora passed By-law Number 4258-01.P to regulate the Town's Business Licensing; AND WHEREAS the Council deems it necessary and expedient to amend By-law Number 4258-01.P; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT Schedule "A" to this By-law be and is hereby inserted into By-law 4258.01.P. 2. THAT By-law Number 4922-07.P be and is hereby repealed. 3. THAT By-law Number 4598-04.P be and is hereby repealed. 4.
