The Corporation of the Town of Aurora
By-law Number 6531-23
Being a By-law to amend By-law Number 6228-19, as amended, to govern the
proceedings ofCouncil and Committee meetings oftheTown ofAurora.
Whereas under subsection 238 (2) of the MunicipalAct, 2001, s.o. 2001, c. 25, as
amended, every municipality and local board shall pass a procedure by-law for
governing the calling, place and proceedings of meetings;
And whereas on December 10, 2019, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of
Aurora (the l'Town") enacted By-law Number 6228-1 9, being a by-law to govern
proceedings at Council and Committee meetings;
And whereas on June 27, 2023, the Council of the Town passed a motion contained in
Report No. PDS23-086, to amend subsection 32(d) of By-law Number 6228-1 9, as
amended;
And whereas the Council of the Town deems it necessary and expedient to amend
subsection 32(d) of By-law Number 6228-1 9, as amended, to allow delegates to speak
no more than twice at Public Planning meetings;
Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Aurora hereby enacts as
follows:
1. Paragraph (i) of subsection 32(d) of By-law Number 6228-1 9, as amended, be
and is hereby deleted and replaced with the following:
"(i) Any person may speak on a matter on the agenda at a Public Planning
Meeting. The delegate shall not speak for more than five (5) minutes and
shall speak no more than twice on the agenda item."
