DECLARATIONS OF PECUNIARY INTEREST APPROVAL OFAGENDA Moved by David Mhango Seconded by Roy Harrington THAT the Agenda as circulated by the Secretary -Treasurer be approved. CARRIED ADOPTION OF MINUTES Committee of Adjustment Minutes of October 9, 2014 Meeting Number 14-10 Moved by Roy Harrington Seconded by Carl Barrett THAT the Committee of Adjustment Minutes from Meeting Number 14-10 be adopted as printed and circulated. CARRIED PRESENTATION OF APPLICATIONS Permission application: D13-33-14 (Serna-Roman) 70 Machell Avenue The applicant is seeking permission from the provisions of Zoning By-law No. 2213-78, as amended, respecting to allow the construction of an attached garage and second storey addition to an existing legal non -conforming building. The Chair read through the purpose of the application. In attendance was the agent Sam Salis. Committee of Adjustment Meeting No. 14-11 Thursday, November 13, 2014 Page 2 of 2 Mr. Salis stated that the property is currently a 1 1/2 storey house. The proposal is to elminiate the 1/2 storey and put in a complete second storey with 3 bedrooms and an attached garage. The Committee asked about the front east elevation, whether it would be lowered and possible drainage issues. Mr Salis stated that portion of the house was unexcavated with no basement and would not be lowered and that there would be no drainage issues. The Committee then asked if the property owners would be residing at the house during construction. Mr. Salis indicated they would be living off -site during the construction period. Moved by Roy Harrington Seconded by David Mhango THAT Permission application D13-33-14 be APPROVED subject to conditions contained in the report. CARRIED V NEW BUSINESS/GENERAL INFORMATION The Committee was notified that the OMB appeal of Minor Variance application D13-11-14 (Aurora Small Engine Repair Inc.) has been withdrawn by the appellant. As such, the hearing that had been scheduled for October 28, 2014 was subsequently cancelled by the OMB. The decision made by the Committee on this Variance application is final pending the fulfilling of the recommended conditions. The Committee was notified that Minor Variance application D13-32-14 (Pechen) has been appealed by the Variance applicant (Pechen) to the OMB. The appeal package will now be processed and subsequently forwarded onto the OMB.
