RECOMMENDED:
THAT Aurora Council endorse the Region of York population, household
and employment forecasts, as approved by Regional Council on January
22, 2009, as set out in table 1; and
THAT staff be directed to forward Council's resolution for inclusion on the
York Region Special Council Meeting agenda related to the York Region
Official Plan 5-year Review agenda of April 8, 2009.

Re: York Region 2031 Population and Employment Forecasts
RECOMMENDATION:
THAT, Aurora Council endorse the Region of York population, household and
employment forecasts as approved by Regional Council on January 22, 2009 as set out in
Table 1; and
THAT staff be directed to forward Councils resolution for inclusion on the York Region
Special Council Meeting agenda related to the York Region Official Plan 5-year Review
agenda of April8, 2009.
The purpose of this memo is to inform Council that the Regional Planning Department
presented a Report to the Regional Planning and Economic Development Committee, pertaining
to the proposed population, household and employment forecasts to the year 2031 and the
technical background information used to derive the forecasts. Regional Council adopted the
forecasts to be used as a basis for an amendment to Table 1 (York Region Population,
Household and Employment Forecasts by Local Municipality) of the Region of York Official
Plan.

These forecasts are based on the requirements of the provincial "Growth Plan" and the Region
of York worked closely with all 9 municipalities including Aurora to determine the appropriate
share of growth throughout the Region. These forecasts are to be used as a basis for local
growth management strategies such as the upcoming Five Year Review of the Aurora Official
Plan.

On April 8, 2009 the Region of York will beholding a public meeting re: York Region Official
Plan 5 Year Review pertaining to all the suggested changes, including the population and
employment. forecasts to the Regional Official. Plan and once adopted by Regional Council, the,
Town will be required to update its Official Plan policies accordingly.

THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
By-law Number 5126-09
BEING A BY-LAW to Confirm Actions by
Council Resulting from Special Council
Meeting 09-09 on April 7, 2009
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
AURORA HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
THAT the actions of the Council at its meeting held on April 7, 2009 in respect to
each motion, resolution and other action passed and taken by the Council at the
said meeting is, except where prior approval of the Ontario Municipal Board is
required, hereby adopted ratified and confirmed.
2. THAT the Mayor and the proper officers of the Town are hereby authorized and
directed to do all things necessary to give effect to the said action or to obtain
approvals where required and to execute all documents as may be necessary in
that behalf and the Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to affix the corporate
seal to all such documents.
READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME THIS 7'" DAY OF APRIL, 2009.
