NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Daurer inquired about the budget and year-to-date costs for the Aurora Family Leisure
Complex (AFLC) renovations. Councillor Ballard indicated that he would follow up with the
Director of Parks & Recreation Services toward providing an update on the next Committee
agenda.
Mr. Clement requested a status update regarding the AFLC renovations. The Manager,
Business Support advised that the Director of Parks & Recreation Services meets regularly
with the project team and noted that, due to the extended cold weather, the project was
slightly behind schedule on exterior work, which was compensated for by completing interior
work. He reported that the project remains on schedule for the mid-October target date and
that foundation work for the extension would begin next week.
Mr. Weese referred to the proposed tennis bubble versus a multi-sports facility and the
proposed sale of the Aurora Sports Dome and noted that the Parks and Recreation Advisory
Committee had not been given the opportunity to receive information and provide advice to
Council on these matters. Councillor Ballard indicated that he would follow up with the
Director of Parks & Recreation Services.
