BYLAW - Schedule of Fees for Building By-law 3487-93 - 19990127THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA By-law Number 4022-99.F BEING A BY-LAW to provide a Schedule of Fees to the Building By-law 3487-93. WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora enacted and passed By-law 3487-93, pursuant to the Building Code Act, S.O., 1992 Section 7 and wishes herein to provide a new Schedule of Fees. NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT By-law Number 3932-98.F being a Schedule of Fees to By-law 3487-93 is hereby repealed. 2. THAT the fees and services charges for Building Permits and Inspections in the Town of Aurora as set out in Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming part of this By-law are hereby approved and shall be inserted as Schedule "A" to By-law 3487- 93. 3. THAT the provisions of this By-law shall come into force and effect upon final passage thereof. READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME THIS 27th DAY OF January, 1999 READ A THIRD AND FINALLY PASSED THIS JOfh DAY OF February, 1999 SCHEDULE "A"-BY-LAW 3932-98.F Classes of Permits and Permit Fees: The classes of pennits and permit fees shall be as set forth below. Notwithstanding the provisions of this By-law, no permit or fee shall be required for any structure having an area less than 10 square metres (107.6 sq. ft.); however the Town of Aurora Zoning By-law 2213- 78 (as amended) continues to apply to such structures. 1. Basic Permits and Fees: (a) Single, Semi and all other Multiple Family Dwellings (b) $7.60 per m2 of gross floor area, excluding unfinished basements and service areas Note: Basement walkouts which are unfinished will be charged at 25% of the gross floor area of the basement. (i) Additions to Single and Multiple Family Dwellings: and, (ii) Accessory Buildings: (garages and sheds exceeding 10m2 (017.6 ft?): $7.60 per m2 of gross floor area, excluding unfinished basements and service areas. Minimum fee of$60.00. Note: Where lot grading is impacted, an additional flat fee of $75.00 shall be applicable. (c) Commercial, Industrial. Institutional: (i) Commercial. Industrial, Institutional Buildings (including additions thereto) and Accessory Buildings exceeding 1Om2 C1 07.6 ft2): $3.70 per m2 of gross floor area. Minimum fee of$60.00. (ii) Commercial, Industrial. Institutional and other such buildings as identified in Sections 3.2 and 9.10 of the Ontario Building Code (as amended): $.30 per m 2 of gross floor area, $50.00 minimum fee (Fire Department Review). (d) Alterations and Repairs: $12.00 per $1,000.00 of work to be performed. Minimum fee of$60.00. (e) Farm Buildings (excluding dwellings): $14.00 per 46.5m2 (500 ff) of gross floor area or portion thereof. Minimum fee of$60.00. (f) Demolition Fee: $14.00 per 93m2 (1,000 ff) of gross floor area or portion thereof. Minimum fee of$60.00. (g) Aboveground or Underground Tanks: $14.00 per 4,5461itres (1,000 gallons) or portion thereof Minimum fee of $60.00. - 3 - (h) Aboveground or Underground Swimming Pool Enclosures: (i) Decks: $175.00 Decks only -$60.00 Decks with Hot Tubs-$90.00 Hot Tubs only-$60.00 G) Fireplaces. Woodstoves and Chimneys: $60.00 2. Revisions to Plans: $60.00/hr. where changes or alterations require additional plans review, with a $30.00 minimum charge. 3. Special Investi~:ation Fee: Wherever any work for which a permit is required by this by-law has commenced without the authorization of a permit, a special investigation fee shall be paid in addition to all other fees payable. This fee shall be twice the fee that would be payable pursuant to this By-law or the sum of $100.00 whichever is the greater. The payment of the investigation fee shall not exempt any person from compliance with the by-law or any other relevant by-law, nor from any penalty prescribed by law. 4 Transfer of Permit: $60.00 5. Retrofit: (a) Fire Alarms: $100.00 (b) Sprinklers: $.201m2 6. Construction and Sales Trailers: $100.00 7. Temporary Buildin~:/Tent: $60.00 8. Chan~:e of Use: Where no construction proposed -$100.00 flat fee, otherwise applicable fees as set out in this by-law where construction, alteration, demolition, retrofit etc. is either proposed or required. - 4 - 9. Fee for Securin2 Copies of Architectural Plans Upon Request: $10.00 10. On Site Sewa2e Systems (a) Fee for Approval of a Plan of Subdivision under the Planning Act. R.S.O. 1990, cP.l3. s.51 $300.00 for each lot or block shown on the proposed plan of subdivision (up to a total of three reviews and an additional charge of$50.00 per lot or block for each subsequent review). (b) Fee for Consent under the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.Pl3, s.53 $200.00 for each lot proposed to be created and $200.00 for each remaining lot. (c) Fee for Authorization of a Minor Variance under the Planning Act. R.S.O. 1990, c.P13. s.45 $200.00 for each application. (d) Fee for Approval of a Condominium under the Condominium Act. R.S.O. 1990. c.C.26. s.50 $500.00 for each application where the structure is 2,000 square feet or less, or, where the structure is greater than 2,000 square feet, $0.30 for each square foot of the structure, to a maximum of$3,000.00. (e) Fee for Certificates of Approval for Class 4 and 5 Sewage Systems i) For Residential or Farm structures: $500.00 for each application where the structure is 2,000 square feet or less, or, where the structure is greater than 2,000 square feet, $0.30 for each square foot of the structure to a maximum of $3,000.00. ii) For Commercial, Industrial or Institutional Structures: $500.00 for each application where the structure is 2,000 square feet or less, or, where the structure is greater than 2,000 square feet, $0.30 for each square foot of the structure to a maximum of $3,000.00. iii) For Communal Subsurface Sewage Disposal Systems: The greater of $500.00 for each application or $0.30 for each square foot of structure connected to the individual communal subsurface sewage disposal system to a maximum of $3,000.00. (f) Certificates of Approval for Pools. Minor Additions and Accessory Buildings Requiring Alterations to the Sewage Disposal System $200.00 for each application. (g) Certificates of Approval for Pools. Minor Additions and Accessory Buildings NOT requiring alterations to the sewage disposal system $60.00 for each application. - 5 - (h) Comments on Zoning Amendments. Official Plan Amendments and Site Plans $200.00 for each request. 11.
