BEING A BY-LAW to
authorize a special rate on the
residential water/sewer bills for
Dekkema-Gervais (Ballymore)
Subdivision 65M-3049
WHEREAS section 221 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.M.45 (as amended) authorizes
Council to impose sewage service rates in relation to the operation of sewage works, taking into
account differences between classes of users, and further to impose a sewer rate in relation to the
anticipated capital cost of sewage works benefitting a specified class of users.
AND 'WHEREAS Council of the Town of Aurora wishes to impose an additional sewage service
rate and sewer rate upon the service users of Plan 65M-3049 in relation to the special pumping
station constructed to service that subdivision.
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora ENACTS·,
AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT this By-law 3723-96.F shall be added to and form Schedule "B" to The Town of
Aurora Water and Sewer Rate By-law 3365-92 (as amended).
2. THAT a quarterly charge of $22.50 per residential unit, in addition to amounts otherwise
payable pursuant to By-law 3365-92 (as amended), shall be imposed on the sewer portion
of the water and sewer rates required to be paid to the Town of Aurora by the users of
those services in the Dekkema-Gervais (Ballymore) Subdivision, Plan 65M-3049.
3. THAT a Reserve Fund be created for the Ballymore Pumping Station, which will finance
future repair and replacement of the pumps.
4. THAT the provisions of this By-law shall come into force and effect upon third reading
thereof.
