OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW to temporarily
close a portion of Y onge Street,
within the Town of Aurora, for the
Heritage Day celebrations.
WHEREAS the provisions of section 24 of the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement
Act, R.S.O. 1990, as amended, authorized councils of municipalities to temporarily close
Provincial Highway Connecting Links for a period not exceeding seventy-two (72) hours;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to temporarily close up and stop traffic on a portion
of Yonge Street (Highway Number 11), within the Town of Aurora, on Saturday, August 21,
1993, for the Heritage Day celebrations.
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the Town of Aurora ENACT
AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT Yonge Street (Highway Number 11), within the Town of Aurora, be temporarily
closed up to through traffic on Saturday, August 21, 1993, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00p.m.
between the Orchard Heights Boulevard/Batson Drive intersection and the Murray
Drive/Edward Street intersection;
2. THAT the York Region Police and the Town of Aurora Public Works Department be
empowered to perform all necessary acts during this time period to assist traffic and
guide motorists towards existing adequate detour routes and to allow the safe movement
of the celebrations on Yonge Street; and
3. THAT the provisions of this By-law shall come into force and effect upon final passage
hereof.

READ A THIRD TIME AND FINALLY PASSED THIS 2 DAY OF JULY, 1993.
