OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW to temporarily close Yonge
Street, within the Town of Aurora, for
the July 1st, 1992 Parade.
WHEREAS the provisions of Section 24 of the Public Transportation and
Highway Improvement Act (as amended) authorize Councils of Municipalities to
temporarily close Provincial Highway Connecting Links for a period not
exceeding 72 hours; and
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to temporarily close up and stop traffic on
a portion of Yonge Street (Highway Number 11) in the Town of Aurora, on
Wednesday, July 1st, 1992, for the July 1st Parade;
NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the Town of Aurora ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
I. THAT Yonge Street (Highway Number 11) be temporarily closed up to
through traffic in the Town of Aurora, on Wednesday, July 1st, 1992,
between the Henderson Drive/Allaura Boulevard intersection and the
Aurora Heights Drive/Mark Street intersection from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30
p.m. on July I, 1992;
2. THAT the York Region Po 1 ice and the Town of Aurora Pub 1 i c Works
Department be empowered to do all acts to assist traffic during this
time period to guide motorists toward existing adequate detour routes
and to allow the safe movement of the parade on Yonge Street;
3. THAT By-law 3281-91 be and is hereby repealed; and
4. THAT the provisions of this By-law shall come into force and effect
upon final passage hereof.
