BYLAW - Temporary Close Yonge for Parade - 19901024 - 323490BY-LAW NUMBER 3234-90 OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA BEING A BY-LAW to temporarily close Yonge Street, within the Town of Aurora, for a parade. WHEREAS the provisions of Section 24 of the Public Transportation and Highway Improvement Act allows Councils of Municipalities to temporarily close Provincial Highway Connecting Links for a period not exceeding 72 hours; and WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to temporarily close up and stop traffic on a portion of Yonge Street (Highway Number 11) in the Town of Aurora, on Sunday, November 18, 19go, for the Santa Claus Parade; NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the Town of Aurora ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. THAT Yonge Street (Highway Number 11) be temporarily closed up to through traffic in the Town of Aurora, on Sunday, November 18, 1990, from the Henderson Drive/Allaura Boulevard intersection and the intersection of Aurora Heights Drive/Mark Street from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; 2. THAT the York Region Police and the Town of Aurora Public Works Department be empowered to do all acts of assisting traffic during this time period to provide an adequate detour route and to allow the safe movement of the parade on Yonge Street; and 3. THAT the provisions of this By-1 aw wi 11 come into force and effect upon the final passage thereof.
