BYLAW - Temporary Close St. Johns Sdrd for Construction - 19890614 - 311389BY-LAW NUMBER 3113-89
OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW to temporarily close the
portion of St. John's Sideroad between
Yonge Street and Bathurst Street for
construction purposes.
WHEREAS the provisions of Section 208 (43) of the Municipal Act R.S.O.
1980, Chapter 302 as amended, provide that Council may, by By-law close
temporarily any highway under their jurisdiction for any construction,
repair, or improvement thereof;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to close St. John's Side road between
Yonge Street and Bathurst Street to allow reconstruction activities to take
place;
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Corporation of The Town of Aurora ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the portion of St. John's Sideroad lying between Yonge Street
(Highway Number 11) and Bathurst Street (York Region Road 38) be
closed temporarily until the 4th day of August, 1989, at which time
through traffic shall be restored.
2. That a reasonable temporary alternative route for local traffic and
emergency services vehicles shall be provided from either Bathurst
Street or Yonge Street in an alternating manner.
3. That there shall be erected at each end of the closed portion of the
highway a barricade upon which an adequate warning device shall be
posted and in good working order continuously from sunset to until
sunrise together with detour signs containing a notice that the
highway is closed to traffic.
4. That the provisions of this By-1 aw shall come into force and effect
upon final passage thereof.
