BY-LAW NUMBER 2985-88
OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW to amend By-law No.
2345-80 as amended, a by-law for the
licencing, regulating and governing of
taxi cab brokers, owners and drivers of
taxi cabs.
WHEREAS the provisions of Section 227 of the Municipal Act, RSO 1980,
Chapter 302 as amended, permit Council to pass by-laws for licencing,
regulating and governing taxi cab brokers, owners and drivers;

AND WHEREAS the Municipal Council of the Town of Aurora has enacted By-law
2345-80 and amendm~nts thereto pursuant to said Section;
AND WHEREAS it is now deemed expedient to further amend the provisions of
By-law No. 2345-80;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Municipal Council of the Town of Aurora enacts as
follows:
1. That Section 71 of By-1 aw No. 2345-80 be and is hereby de 1 eted and the
following substituted therefore;
71. A 1 imitation to the maximum number of taxi cabs to be 1 icenced for
the operation in the Town of Aurora shall be on a ratio of 1 cab
per 1,000 persons or major part thereof within the Town limits;
2. That Section 72(a) of By-law No. 2345-80 be and is hereby repealed; and
3. That the provisions of this By-law shall come into force and be
effective upon final passage thereof.
