BYLAW - Sale of Land to School Board - 19880727 - 301288BY-LAW NUMBER 3012-88 OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA BEING A BY-LAW to approve the sale of certain lands to The York Region Board of Education for the purposes of the said Board. WHEREAS, this Corporation is now seized and possessed of the lands described as Parcel Plan-1, Section M-87 being the whole of Block "A", Plan M-87, Town of Aurora, Regional Municipality of York Region (hereinafter called the "Lands"); Jl.ND WHEREAS by virtue of Section 193 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 302, this Corporation is empowered to sell lands that are no longer required for municipal purposes; AND WHEREAS by an Agreement made Apri 1 23, 1986, between The Corporation of The Town of Aurora and The York Region Board of Education (hereinafter called the "Agreement") this Corporation has granted The York Region Board of Education (hereinafter called the "Board") an option to purchase the Lands if the Lands are required for the purposes of the Board; AND WHEREAS by a letter dated June 21, 1988, the Board has advised this Corporation that it requires the Lands for the purposes of the Board; AND WHEREAS the Lands are no longer required for municipal purposes; NOW THEREFORE, the Municipal Corporation of The Town of Aurora enacts as By-law No. 3012-88 of The Corporation of The Town of Aurora, the following: 1. That execution of the Agreement by this Corporation is authorized by this Corporation. 2. The Lands are no longer required for municipal purposes. 3. That the Lands be sold and conveyed to the Board for the purposes of the Board. 4. That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign and execute under seal of The Corporation of The Town of Aurora all documents necessary to effect the sa 1 e of the Lands by this Corporation to The York Region Board of Education. 5. That the provisions of this By-law shall come into force and effect upon final passage thereof. READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME THIS c;llll-'DAY OF JIJL\j ' 1988.
