BYLAW - Sale of Land to Lucy - 19880824 - 301688BY-LAW NUMBER 3016-88
OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW to approve the sale of
certain lands to Lucy Construction Ltd.
WHEREAS, this Corporation is now seized and possessed of the lands
described as Parcel C-1, Section M-42 being the whole of block "C", Plan
M-42, Town of Aurora, Regional Municipality of York Region (hereinafter
called the "Lands");
AND WHEREAS, the Lands were acquired by this Corporation for nonpayment of
municipal taxes pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Affairs Act
R.S.O. 1980, C.303 and Municipal Tax Sales Act S.O. 1984, C.48;
AND WHEREAS, Lucy Construction Ltd. had an interest in the Lands prior
to their acquisition by this Corporation and failed to exercise its right to
redeem the Lands;
AND WHEREAS, by virtue of Section 193 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980,
Chapter 302, this Corporation is empowered to sell lands that are no longer
required for municipal purposes;
AND WHEREAS, the Lands are no longer required for municipal purposes;
AND WHEREAS, this Corporation has resolved by Resolution #516 adopted July
29, 1987 to convey the Lands to Lucy Construction Ltd. for a consideration
equal to the total of all taxes and charges owing with respect to the Lands
and for the Corporation's legal costs related to the acquisition and
conveyance of the Lands.
NOW THEREFORE, The Muni ci pa 1 Corporation of The Town of Aurora enacts as
By-law No. 3016-88 of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora the following:
1. THAT the Lands are no longer required for municipal purposes.
2. THAT the Lands be conveyed to Lucy Construction Ltd. for a
consideration equal to the total of all taxes and charges owing
with respect to the Lands and for the Corporation's legal costs
related to the acquisition and conveyance of the Lands.
3. THAT the Mayor and Clerk be authorized

4. THAT the provisions of this By-law shall come into force and be
effective upon final passage thereof.
