BYLAW - Purchase of Lands - 19881123 - 304188BY-LAW NUMBER 3041-88
OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY -LAW to approve the purchase
of certain lands from her Majesty the
Queen, in right of the Pro vi nee of
Ontario, represented by the Minister of
Transportation for the Province of
Ontario.
WHEREAS, her Majesty the Queen, in right of the Province of Ontario,
represented by the Minister of Transportation for the Province of Ontario
(hereinafter called "Ontario") is now seized and possessed of the lands
described as Part Lot 20, Plan 166, designated as Part 1, on Department of
Highways Plan P-1900-77 (hereinafter called the "Lands");
AND WHEREAS, Ontario has agreed to sell the Lands to this Corporation;
AND WHEREAS, by virtue of Section 193 (1) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O.
1980, Chapter 302, this Corporation is empowered to acquire lands for
municipal purposes;
AND WHEREAS, the lands are required by this Corporation for municipal
purposes;
AND WHEREAS, this Corporation entered into an Agreement of Purchase and
Sale made the 12th day of October, 1988 between The Corporation of the Town
of Aurora, as purchaser, and Ontario, as Vendor, respecting the acquisition
of the Lands;
NOW THEREFORE, The Municipal Corporation of The Town of Aurora hereby
enacts as By-law Number 3041-88 of The Corporation of The Town of Aurora the
following:
1. That the Lands be acquired by this Corporation for municipal purposes.
2. That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign and execute under the
seal of The Corporation of The Town of Aurora all documents necessary
to effect the acquisition of the Lands by this Corporation from
Ontario. ·
3. That the provisions of this By-law shall not become effective until
final passage thereof.
