OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW to approve the purchase
of certain lands from William Walter Wood
for the establishment and carrying on of
an industrial operation.
WHEREAS, this William Walter Wood is now seized and possessed of the lands
known municipally as 235 Edward Street, Aurora, Ontario, which are more
particularly described as Lot 26, Registrar's Compiled Plan No. 10328 being
Part Lot 77, Concession 1, Town of Aurora, The Regional Municipality of York
(hereinafter called the "Lands");
AND WHEREAS, William Walter Wood has agreed to sell the Lands to this
Corporation;
AND WHEREAS, by virtue of Paragraph 210(50) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O.
1980, Chapter 302, this Corporation is empowered to acquire lands for
municipal purposes and specifically to acquire 1 ands for the purposes of
sites for the establishment and carrying on of industries and of or
industrial operations and uses incidental thereto;
AND WHEREAS, the Lands are to be acquired by this Corporation for the
development of an industrial site;
AND WHEREAS, this Corporation entered into an Agreement of Purchase and
Sale made the 13th day of April, 1987 between The Corporation of the Town of
Aurora, as purchaser, and William Walter Wood and Margaret Wood, as vendors,
respecting the acquisition of the Lands;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Municipal Corporation of the Town of Aurora hereby
enacts as By-1 aw No. 2968-88 of The Corporation of the Town of Aurora the
following:
1. That the Lands be acquired by this Corporation for the purpose of
sites for the establishment and carrying on of industries and of
industrial operations and uses incidental thereto;
2. That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign and execute under
the seal of The Corporation of the Town of Aurora the Agreement of
Purchase and Sa 1 e made the 13th day of Apri 1, 1987 between this
Corporation and William Walter Wood and Margaret Wood respecting
the Lands;
3. That the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign and execute under
the seal of The Corporation of the Town of Aurora all documents
necessary to effect the acquisition of the Lands by this
Corporation from William Walter Wood and Margaret Wood; and
4. That the provisions of this By-1 aw shall come into force and be
effective upon final passage thereof.
