OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW to amend By-law
2893-87, a By-law regulating
Building Permits and Inspections
WHEREAS Subsection 2 of Section 5 of the Building Code Act empowers
municipal councils to pass by-laws respecting building permits;
AND WHEREAS The Council of The Corporation of the Town of Aurora enacted
By-law 2893-87 pursuant to the provisions of said Section;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend the provisions of By-law
2893-87;
NOW THEREFORE The Municipal Council of The Corporation of the Town of
Aurora ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Schedule "A" of By-law No. 2893-87 be and is hereby repealed
and Schedule "A" appended to this By-law shall be added in the
place and stead of said Schedule.
2. That the provisions of this By-law shall come into force and
effect upon final passage thereof.

SCHEDULE "A"
CLASSES OF PERMITS AND PERMIT FEES:
1. The following types of permits identified in 2(a) to (h) shall be
classed as "Building Permits". The fee structure will vary with
respect to the nature of the application.
2. (a) Basi.c Application Fee, Permit Renewal, Transfer of Permit:
$25.00 minimum
of gross floor area, excluding
areas.
(c) Commercial, Industrial,
ad ition thereto :
Institutional Buildin s (includin
$1~40 per m2 ($.13 per ft 2) for the first 930 m2 (10,000
ft ) of gross floor area.
$1~30 per m2 ($.12 per ft 2) for the next 1,394 m2 (15,000
ft ) gross floor area.
$1.18 per m2 ($.11 per ft 2) for the remainder of gross floor
area.
(d) Alterations, Repairs:
$9.00 per $1,000.00 of work to be performed.
(e) Farm Buildings (excluding dwellings):
$13.00 per 46.5 m2 (500 ft 2) of gross floor area or portion
thereof.
(f) Demolition Fee:
$13.00 per 93 m2 (1,000 n 2) of gross floor area or portion
thereof.
(g) Aboveground or Underground Tanks:
$13.00 per 4,546 litres (1,000 gallons) or portion thereof.
(h) A Building Permit is not r~quired for a building or structure with
an area less than 10 m (107.6 square ft) however the Town
Zoning By-law is applicable.
