OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW to amend By-law 2613-83
a By-1 aw to govern and contro 1 the
parking of vehicles within the Town of
Aurora.
WHEREAS the prov1s1ons of Section 210 of the Municipal Act R.S.O. 1980
Chapter 302, as amended, permits Council to pass By-laws for the regulation
of parking;
AND WHEREAS the Muni ci pa 1 Co unci 1 of the Town of Aurora enacted By-1 aw
2613-83 on the 7th day of November 1983 pursuant to the provisions of the
said section;
AND WHEREAS it is now deemed expedient to amend the provisions of By-law
2613-83;
NOW THEREFORE the Muni ci pa 1 Co unci 1 of The Corporation of the Town of
Aurora ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the provisions of PART SIX: PENALTIES be and are hereby
amended by the addition thereto of a new Section 4 such section to
--read as follows:
4. Notwithstanding the above penalty provisions, a constable or
an officer appointed for carrying out the provisions of this
By-law, upon the discovery of a vehicle, motorcycle,
motorized snowmobile, or any other vehicle propelled or
driven otherwise than by muscular power apparently abandoned
on or near a highway or boulevard or of a motor vehicle
without proper number plates, may take the said vehicle into
his custody and may cause it to be taken to and stored in a
suitable place and all costs and charges for removal, care or
storage thereof are a lien upon the motor vehicle, which may
be enforced in the manner provided by section 52 of the
Mechanics' lien Act.
2. That the provisions of this By-1 aw sha 11 come into force and
effect upon final passage thereof.
