OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW to temporarily close up
and stop traffic on a portion of Yonge
Street (Highway No. 11) in the Town of
Aurora on July 1, 1987 for the purpose of
a parade.
WHEREAS the prov1s1ons of Section 208, Subsection 44 of the Municipal Act,
R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 302, As Amended, permits council to pass by-laws for
closing to vehicular traffic on a temporary basis for such period as shall
be specified in the by-law any highway or portion of a highway under the
jurisdiction of the council;
AND WHEREAS the Municipal Council of the Town of Aurora deems it expedient
to enact a By-law to temporarily close a portion of Highway 11 for the
purpose of holding the July 1st parade;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
AURORA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. THAT Yonge Street (Highway 11) be temporarily closed up to through
traffic in the Town of Aurora on July 1, 1987 from the north side of
Murray Drive and the intersection of Aurora Heights Drive from
10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.;
2. THAT the York Regional Police Department and the Town of Aurora·
Works Department be empowered to do all acts of assisting traffic
during this time period to allow the safe movements of the parade on
Yonge Street and alternative traffic routing; and
3. THAT the provisions of this By-1 aw shall come into force and effect
on the day of passing thereof.
