BYLAW - Multi stop at Harrison & Edward - 19871104 - 294787BY-LAW NUMBER 2947-87 OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA BEING A BY-LAW to designate a multiple stop intersection at Harrison Avenue and Edward Street in the Town of Aurora. WHEREAS the provisions of Section 117 of the Highway Traffic Act R.S.O. 1980, Chapter 198, as amended, permit Council to erect stop signs at the intersections of highways under its jurisdiction; AND WHEREAS the provisions of Section 76 of the Regional Municipality of York Act R.S.O. 1980 Chapter 443, as amended, requires the approval of certain By-laws to regulate traffic by Regional Council; AND WHEREAS The Region of York has enacted and passed By-law R-841-87-4, the provisions of which require the approval by the Regional Corporation of by-laws passed by the Town of Aurora regulating traffic on that portion of a highway lying within 300 metres of the intersection of such highway with a road forming part of the regional road system as constituted by the Regional Municipality of York Act; AND WHEREAS the Edward Street and Harrison Avenue intersection does not lie within 300 metres of a road forming part of the regional road system; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Aurora deems it expedient to temporarily designate a multiple stop intersection at Harrison Avenue and Edward Street, Town of Aurora; NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Town of Aurora enacts as follows: 1. THAT the following intersection shall have stop signs erected in accordance with the prescribed regulations: INTERSECTION FACING TRAFFIC Harrison Avenue and Southbound on Edward Street Edward Street Northbound on Edward Street Eastbound on Harrison Avenue Westbound on Harrison Avenue 2. THAT the provisions of this By-law shall not become effective until final passage thereof, and until proper signs have been erected and are on display.
