OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING a By~law to regulate the supply
and use of water within the serviced
area of the Corporation of the Town
of Aurora.
WHEREAS the provisions of Section 12 of the Public Utilities Act
R.S.O. Chapter 423, as amended, permit municipal corporations to
pass By-laws for the regulations of the time, manner, extent and
nature of the supply of the works and every other matter or thing
related to or connected therewith that may be necessary or proper
to regulate, in order to ensure a continued and abundant supply
of water;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora
deem it expedient to regulate the watering of lawns for certain
classes of property within the serviced area of the Town of
Aurora;
NOW THEREFORE the Municipal Council of the Town of Aurora enacts
as follows:
1. THAT in order to ensure the continued supply of
water the Council does hereby prohibit the use of
municipally supplied water for the purpose of lawn
watering by hose or!pipe at any time except as provided
for hereunder:
(a) Those persons North of Kennedy Street shall
be permitted to water between 19:00 and 22:00
hours on any Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and
Sunday between May 1st and September 30th in
any year.
(b) Those persons South of Kennedy Street shall
be permitted to water between 19:00 and 22:00
hours on any Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and
Sunday between May lst and September 30th in
any year.
2. THAT the provisions of this By-law shall not apply to
any building or dwelling located in an industrial or
commercial zone which has an approved water meter
installed and operating and is being charged metered
water rates as established by the Town from time to
time.

3. THAT the Council may by resolution passed pursuant to
the provisions of this By-law, allow for exception to
the provisions contained herein as specified in the
said resolution.
4. THAT any person contravening the provisions of this
By-law is guilty of an offence and shall be subject
to a penalty upon conviction of a Provincial Court
presiding justice, not exceeding three hundred
($300.00) dollars, and all such pena1ti£m 'S.h,a:Ll be
recoverable under the provisions of the Ontario
Provincial Offences Act.
5. THAT By-law No. 1609-64 as amended by By-laws 1740-67
and 2146-77 be and is hereby repealed.
6. THAT the provisions of this By-law shall come into
force and be effective upon final passage thereof.
