'--{_.• ; . 1/'-1 -""""~"'""~-L- (J/{ 16! /lf', ADOPTION BY -LAW FOR OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT NO. 33 BY -LAW NUMBER 2739-85 OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora, under Section 17(6) of the Planning Act, 1983, hereby enacts as follows: 1. Official Plan Amendment No. 33 for the Town of Aurora, consisting of the attached maps and explanatory text, is hereby adopted. 2. The Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to make application to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing for approval of Official Plan Amendment No. 33 for the Town of Aurora. 3. This By-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of the final passage thereof. PART II -THE AMENDMENT, consisting of the following text and map (designated Schedule 'A'), constitutes Amendment No. 33 to the Official Plan for the Town of Aurora. .!!. .. '· .;· - 2 - PART I: THE PREAMBLE The purpose of this Amendment is to change the land use designation of certain lands, more particularly shown on Schedule 'A' attached, from "Rural" to "Urban Residential" and "Major Open Space". ''<,;, The lands affected by this redesigna tion are located in Part of Lot &0, Concession 1 W.Y.S., Town of Aurora, as shown on Schedule 'A' attached. BASIS OF THE AMENDMENT ------------------ The lands affected by this Amendment are presently designated "Rural" on Schedule 'A' of the Official Plan. They were part of the study area of the Aurora West Secondary Plan which evaluated land use, population, servicing, transportation and environmental aspects of Aurora West. The Aurora West Secondary Plan recommended that the subject lands be designated "Urban Residential" and "Major Open Space" to reflect the flood plain area. As well, the need for a neighbourhood park in the area was identified. The need for this facility is still evident and a suitable site has been identified within the subject site. The Aurora West Secondary Municipal Board insofar as the connection with the Official Plan. Plan issues was dealt with by the Ontario which were referred to it in The residual lands were left designated "rural" although it was always Council's intention· that the lands would eventually be developed at urban residential densities. Because no development applications had been made on the subject lands, the appropriate amendments to implement Council's original intention had not been made. The owners of the land have now submitted an application for subdivision approval which would conform with the urban residential category within the Official Plan. ' .. ',, -3 - PART II -THE AMENDMENT All of this part of the document entitled Part II -The Amendment, consisting of the following text and attached map de signa ted Schedule 'A' (Land Use Plan) consitutues Amendment No. 33 to the Official Plan for the Town of Aurora. The Official Plan of the Town of Aurora is hereby amended as follows: The area indica ted on the attached Schedule 'A' of the Official Plan is hereby redesignated from "Rural" to "Urban Residential" and "Major Open Space".
