BYLAW - Amend 2389 80 - 19811116 - 245981THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA BY-LAW NUMBER 2459-81 -------"'---- A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW 2389-80 BEING A BY-LAW TO PROVIDE AN INTERIM TAX LEVY AND THE COLLECTION THEREOF: WHEREAS IT IS DEEMED EXPEDIENT TO AMEND THE INTERIM RATE LEVY AND THE TAX INSTALMENT DUE DATES APPLICABLE IN THE YEAR 1982. NOW THEREFORE, The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora enacts as follows: 1. (2) 2. (3) 3. THAT Clause 2 of By-Law Number 2389-80 be repealed and a new Clause 2 be enacted to read as follows: "THAT in order to provide money for municipal general purposes; educational quarterly levies; and regional quarterly levies prior to the adoption of the estimates for the year there shall be levied by the Municipality of the Town of Aurora an interim levy each year of sums equal to that of applying rates of 50 % of the residential public school mill rate of the preceding year to the whole of the assessment for real property and business assessment roll: more particularly outlined as 25.5 Mills." THAT Clause 3 of By-Law Number 2389-80 be repealed and a new Clause 3 be enacted to read as follows: "NOTWITHSTANDING the provisions of any previous By-Laws setting the time of payment of rates, taxes and assessment, the taxes levied under this By-Law shall be collected in three instalments: the First Instalment to be due and payable on February 24th; the Second Instalment to be due and payable on March 24th; the Third Instalment to be due and payable on April 28th in this and any succeeding year until repealed. PROVIDED HOWEVER, that all arrears of rates, taxes and assessment levied and imposed in any year prior to the current year plus penalties and interest thereon must be paid and upon default in payment of any instalment, the privilege of payment by instalment shall be forfeited and the subsequent instalment or instalments shall forthwith become payable."
