OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW TO AMEND BY-LAW NUMBER 1863
A RESTRICTED AREA (ZONING) BY-LAW
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable to amend By-law 1863.
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Aurora enacts as follows:
1. Notwithstanding the provisions of VIII.S the lands
shown in hatching on Schedule 'A' attached hereto may
be used for an 'Institutional Boarding House'.
2. For the purposes of this By-law an Institutional Boarding
House shall be defined as follows:
Institutional Boarding House: means a dwelling operated
by a non-profit organization in which emergency
accommodation and care is provided from time to time.
3. Notwithstanding the provisions of Section VII.4 the
parking requirement for the subject use shall be 4 spaces.
4. No part of this By-law will come into force until the
provisions of The Planning Act have been complied with
but subject to such provisions the By-law will come
into force from the day of passing thereof.

SCHEDULE 2
By-law .Z~-81 has the following purpose and effect:
To amend By-law 1863, the By-law currently in force in the
urban portion of the Town of Aurora to permit Project Hostel
which as a non-profit organization providing tempo,rary
emergency housing to women and children in distress to
establish a facility at 35 and 37 Wellington Street East.
The By-law terms the use an Institutional Boarding House
since the residents are asked to contribute to the costs of
running the facility based on their financial ability although
it is run in the manner of an Institutional Use and receives
some public fundings under a purchase of service agreement
with the Regional Municipality of York. The Official Plan
provides that Institutional uses be permitted in the General
Commercial Area.
The facility will be staffed at all times and no significant
external changes to the existing building are envisaged.
