Of THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION Of THE TOWN Of AURORA
Being a By-law to adopt Amendment No. s to the Official Plan of
the Aurora Planning Area.
The Council of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora in accord-
ance with the provisions of Section 17(1) of The Planning Act
enacts as follows:
l. Amendment No. 8 to the Official Plan of the Aurora Planning
Area, consisting of the attached explanatory text, is here-
by adopted.
2. That the Municipal Corporation of the Town of Aurora make
application to the Ministry of Housing for approval of
said Amendment.
3. The Clerk is hereby authorized and empowered to make or
cause to be made on behalf of this Corporation such appli-
cation as may be necessary to the Ministry of Housing for
approval of said Amendment and to execute under the Corp-
orate Seal such documents as may be required for the above
purposes.

PART I: THE CERTIFICATION
The explanatory text constituting Amendment No.8 to the
Official Plan of the Aurora Planning Area, was adopted
by the Council of the Town of Aurora by By-law No.

This Amendment to the Official Plan of the Aurora Plan-
ning Area which has been adopted by the Council of the
Town of Aurora is hereby approved in accordance with
Section 16 of The Planning Act, as Amendment No. to
the Official Plan of the Aurora Planning Area.
1. Title
AMENDMENT NO . 8
TO THE OFFICIAL PLAN
OF THE AURORA PLANNING AREA
PART II: THE PREAMBLE
The Amendment shall be known as Amendment No.8 to the
Official Plan of The Aurora Planning Area.
2. Purpose of the Amendment
The purpose of this Amendment is to amend Schedule "A",
the Land Use Plan, to permit the subject lands which
are presently designated for Institutional land uses to
be used for Urban Residential development.
3. Basis of the Amendment
This Amendment is being enacted by Council in response
to the following.
(l) The subject lands which were acquired as a school
site some years ago, have now been found by the
York Region Roman Catholic Separate School Board
not to be required for school purposes and have
been sold to the applicant.
(2) The applicant has proposed to develop the subject
lands which are surrounded on all sides by single
family detached dwellings, for an additional 20
single family .detached lots of a similar size and
shape as those which surround them.
(3) The new lots would front on a cul-de-sac which
would intersect with Laurentide Avenue about 300
feet south of Orchard Heights Drive which is a
major residential collector road easily capable of
absorbing additional vehicular traffic.
(4) Existing sewer mains, water mains, parks and
schools are capable of servicing an additional 20
houses.

PART III: THE AMENDMENT
1. Change to Schedule ''A''
The land use designation on Schedule "A" to the Interim
Official Plan for the Aurora Planning Area which applies
to the subject lands which are Block A of Registered
Plan M-1327 is amended from "Institutional" to "Urban
Residential".
2. Implementation
It is intended that the Urban Residential policies will
be implemented through a plan of subdivision and an
amendment to the Restricted Area By-law governing this
area.
3. Interpretation
The policies respecting "Interpretation" in the Interim
Official Plan for the Aurora Planning Area shall apply
to the subject amendment.
