BYLAW - Fees and Charges By~law_eff Jan 2014 - 20131126 - 5557~13THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA By-law Number 5557-13 BEING A BY-LAW to establish a schedule of fees and charges for municipal services, activities and the use of property within the Town of Aurora (Fees and Charges By-law). WHEREAS subsection 391(1) of the MunicipalAct, 2001, S.O.2001, c. 25 as amended, authorizes a municipality to impose fees and charges on persons (a) for services or activities provided or done by or on behalf of it; (b) for costs payable by it for services or activities provided or done by or on behalf of any other municipality or any local board; and (c) for the use of its property including property under its control; AND WHEREAS on October 23, 2012, the Council of The Corporation of the Town of Aurora (the "Town") enacted By-law Number 5455-12, to establish a schedule of fees and charges for municipal services, activities and the use of property within the Town of Aurora; AND WHEREAS on May 14, 2013, the Council of the Town enacted By-law 5512-13, to amend By-law Number 5455-12; AND WHEREAS the Town has conducted an annual corporate -wide review of its fees and charges and deems it necessary to alter the fees and charges for municipal services, activities and the use of the use of property within the Town of Aurora; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Town deems it necessary and expedient to enact a by-law setting out the fees and charges for municipal services, activities and the use of the property within the Town of Aurora; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: THAT By-law Number 5455-12 and By-law Number 5512-13 be and are hereby repealed. 2. THAT the following Schedules attached hereto (hereinafter collectively referred to as the "Schedules") shall be deemed to form part of this By-law: Schedule A — General Fees and Charges; Schedule B — Building & By-law Services Department; Schedule C — Customer & Legislative Services Department; Schedule D — Planning & Development Services Department; Schedule E — Infrastructure& Environmental Services Department; Schedule F — Corporate & Financial Services Department; Schedule G — Parks & Recreation Services Department; and Schedule H — Legal Services Department. 3. THAT any person who obtains any of the Town's services, activities, or use of the Town's property as described in the Schedules shall pay to the Town the By-law Number 5557-13 Page 2 of 2 applicable fees or charges set out therein. Unless otherwise provided for in another by-law, such fees or charges are payable upon the person making such application, request, or purchase of the Town's services, activities, or use of the Town's property and shall not be refundable. 4. THAT payment for any fees, charges and any applicable interest shall be accepted in the form of Canadian currency, debit, credit card, money order or cheque made payable to The Corporation of the Town of Aurora. 5. THAT this By-law shall be referred to as the "Fees and Charges By-law". 6. THAT the provisions of this By-law shall come into full force and effect on January 1, 2014.
