BEING A BY-LAW TO REGULATE HOURn OF WORK AND WORKING CONDITIONS FOR EMPLOYEES OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA. ~ FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS BY-LAW, "EMPLOYEE" SHALL MEAN ONLY THOSE. ;•(f;(J;, UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF THE TOWN SUPERINTENDENT, INLCUDING BOTH _,/v HOURLY RATED AND SUPERVISORY PERSONNEL. 2. MANAGEMENT -COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION RETAINS THE RIGHT TO DIRECT ALL WORK OF ;;J'ft:'tJ THE EMPLOYEES , ALSO THE RIGHTS TO HIRE, REPRIMAND, SUSPEND, DEMOTE QR DISMISS //I v ANY EMPLOYEE FOR JUST CAUSE. :3. SUPERINTEND::NTS AUTHORITY TO DIRECT WORKMEN IN THE VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS, AS IN HIS OPINION, IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO EFFICIENTLY CARRY ON ANY WORK UNDER HIS CONTROL. THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE WORKS DEPARTMENT SHALL HAVE THE POWER TO SUSPEND ANY WORKMAN UNDER HIS JURISDICITION FOR ANY OFFENCE CONTRARY TO THE WORKING , y;' REGULATIONS OF THE TOWN OR FOR GENERAL MISBEHAVIOUR ON THE JOB, FOR A PERIOD OF /t'ti (j~· FROM TWO DAYS TO A 1>/EEK OF FIVE DAYS. INSTRUCTED TO READ, STUDY AND OPERATE THE ~'RUCKS ENTRUSTED TO THEIR CARE, _A'/' HAVING REGARD TO THE FOLLO\HNG RULES OF THE DEPARTMENT, NAMELY: (a) KEEP TRUCKS CLEAN AND WASHED, INSIDE AND OUT, ALSO KEEP WINDSHIELD CLEAN AT ALJJ TIMES • (b) KEEP CHECK ON OIL AND GREASE CHANGES. ( c ) KEEP c:::c;c ON TIRE PRESSURE. (d) CHECK BEHIND TRUCK, PRIOR TO BACKINJ UP. (e) REPORT ALL ACCIDENTS PROMPTLY, WHETHER OR NOT YOU MAY HAVE BEEN AT FAULT. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES HHATSOEVER ADMIT LIABILITY. HOLIDAYS -EACH EMPLOYEE SHALL BE ENTITLED TO VAIJATION WITH PAY AS FOLLOWS: ~ (a) AT THE END OF ONE YEAR OF SERVICE , ONE WEEK. .fl' (b) FROM THE SECOND YEAR TO THE TENTH YEAR TWO WEEKS. (c) BEffiiNNING THE ELEVENTH YEAR, THREE WEEKS HOLIDAYS, NO MORE THAN TWO WEEKS TO BE TAKEN BETWEEN JUNE 15TH. AND SEPTEMBER 15TH. (d) VACATION SCHEDULES WILL BE ARRANGED BY THE DEPARTMENT HEAD, CONSIDERING SENIORITY, WORK AND DEPARTMENTAL EFFICIENCY. (e) DEPARTMENT HEADS MUST GET APPROVAL FOR THEIR HOLIDAYS FROM THEIR RESPECTIVE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN.
