BYLAW - Fire Area and Fire Hazards - 19620409 - 152062[J 1520 BY-LAW •••• •-• ••••••• • •• OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA A FIRE AREA AND FIRE HAZARDS EY-LAW. WHEREAS the Council is desirous of continuing in force Chapter 29 of Ey-J.aw 1063 and amendments thereto in by-law 1199 which by-laws have been repealed. THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: FIRE AREA: 1. All that part of the Town of Aurora within the following lines or limits, that is to say: FIRSTLY: All that ~ertain parcel. J.ying between the easterJ.y J.imit of Yonge Street and aline drawn parallel thereto and distant two hundred feet easterly therefrom and also J.ying between the south J.imit of Catherine Avenue and the south limit, and its extension easterlY, of Lot 6, on the east side of Yonge Street, according to PJ.an 1Eo! SECONDLY: All that certain parcel. lying between the wester].y J.imit of Yonge Street and in a J.ine drawn paralJ.eJ. thereto and distant two hundred feet westerJ.y therefrom and also J.ying between the south J.imit of Irwin Avenue and the south J.imit of Lot 3, PJ.an 39,! \ -m' shall. be and the same is hereby constituted a fire area.: rv' 2.' CONSTRUCTION IN FIRE AREA . \,\ (a) Every building hereafter erected or enJ.arged within the Fire J.imits shall. be encJ.osed on all. sides with walJ.s constructed whoJ.J.y of stone, brick,. concrete, hoJ.J.ow tiJ.e or other incombustible materials approved by the EuiJ.ding Inspector,. and shall have the roof, top and~, sides of allroofs structures, including dormer windows,. covered wit~,.\'' incombustibJ.e materials •l (b) All exterior cornices, string courses and gutters within the Fire Limits (except in dwellings) shall. be built of ;l:ncolllbustible material. and shall. be supported on and securely anchored to the wal~ ·,1\. ' [ '> \ ~--~ • r·· "=-"' r··: "~~- • -2- (c) Tha cornice of every building shall be separated from~~~ cornice of any adjoining building by an approved incombustible ,~\· fire-stop. (d) All exterior wood cornices within the Fire limits that are now or that may hereafter become unsafe by decay or by damage from fire to the extent of two-thirds of the value thereof shall be taken down and replaced, shall be constructed of some firepPoof material; but if not damaged to this extent, or in the case of dwel:f~s they may be repaired with the same kind of material of which they\~\~' were originally constructed. ~ WOODEN STRUCTURES IN FIRE LIMITS 3. No frame or wooden building or structure shall hereafter be built within the fire limits as described herein, except the following and all roofs placed upon such buildings shall be covered with incombustible materials. (a) Temporary one-storey frame buildings for use ofbuilders. (b) Wooden fences not over eight feet high. (o) Small outhouses not exceeding two hundred square feet in area and eight feet in height. Wooden sheds or outhouses shall not be located within five feet of any lot line, nor less than thirty feet from any other building over one storey'high. (d) A private garage for not more than three motor vehicles with a wooden :firame entirely covered with gyproc or plaster or other to the building inspector. on the outside with metal, and li~~ fire resistant material acceptable ~' READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME THIS 2 DAY OF APRIL, 1962.
