of the Corporation of the Town of Aurora
A BY-LAW TO AUTHORIZE THE CONSTRUCTION OF A SANITARY SEWER AND A
WATERMAIN IN EDWARD STREET AND IN DUNNING AVENUE AND TO AUTHORIZE
THE GRADING AND BUILDING BASE AND SURFACE TREATING OF SAID EDWARD
STREET, ALL AS SHOWN ON THE REGISTERED PLAN OF SUBDIVISION NO. ~88
AS AMENDED TO NEW LOCATION OF EDWARD STREET. BEING PART OF BLOCKS
A &·B ACCORDING TO SAID REGISTERED PLAN NO. ~8 OF THE TOWN OF AURORA.
WHEREAS according to the provisions of the Municipal Act
R.S.O. 1960, Chapter 2~9, Section 377, subsection 15, the Corpor-
ation of this Municipality is authorized to pass a By-Law for the
construction of drains, sewers and water~courses.
AND WHEREAS according to the provisions of the Municipal
Act R.S. 0. 1960, Chapter 2~9, Section 4-59, the Corporation of this
Municipality is authorized to pass a By-Law for establishing-and
laying out highways.
AND WHEREAS according to the provisions of the Utilities
Act R.S.O. 1960 Chapter 335, Section 15, the Corporation of this
Municipality is authorized to pass a By-Law for the construction
of watermains.
THEREFORE THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE
TOWN OF AURORA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That sanitary sewers having a sectional internal diameter
of 12 inches and a watermain having a .sectional internal diam~ter
of 12 inches be constructed in Edward Street as shown on the
amendment to Registered Plan No. ~88 (Blocks A & B), Town of
Aurora with the connections of the same size to the existing
systems on Dunning Avenue. The distances and lengths are as follows:
(a) Sanitary Sewer on Edward Street from Dunning Avenue to
South Town Limit is 655 feet with connection on Dunning Avenue of
~5 feet or a total of 700 feet.
(b) Watermain on Edward Street from Dunning Avenue to South
Town Limit is 685 feet, with connection on Dunning Avenue of 190
feet or a total of 875 feet.
2. That the said Edward Street, for a distance of 650 feet
South from the South limit of Dunning Avenue be graded, a road
base be built and surface treatment be applied.
3. That Canadian-British Engineering Consultants be and they
are hereby appointed the Engineers to forthwith make such plans,
profiles, and specifications and flJrnish such information as may
be necessary for the making of a contract for the execution of
the work.

intendence and according to the directions and orders of such
engineers.
5. The Mayor and Clerk are authorized to cause a contract

some person or persons, firm or corporation, subject to the approva~
of this Council to be declared by Resolution.

6. The Treasurer may agree with any bank or person for
temporary advances or money to meet the cost of the work pending
the completion of it.
7. The debentures to be issued for the loan to be effected
to pay for the cost of the sanitary sewer and watermain on Edward
Street and on Dunning Avenue, aforesaid, when completed, shall
bear interest at such rate as the Council may determine and be made~~
payable within twenty (20) years on the instalment plan and the . • ~II'
debentures to be issued for the loan to be effected to pay for the \
cost of the opening, grading, supplying and installing road base
and surface treatment of Edward Street and Dunning Avenue, afore-
said, when completed, shall bear interest at such rate as the
Council may determine and be made payable within ten years on the
instalment plan.
