BEING A BY-LAW TO EXE~~T FROM TAXATION, EXCEPT FOR LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS
AND SCHOOL PURPOSES THE AURORA MEMORIAL LEGION HALL.
WHEREAS by the Municipal Act R.S.O. 1960, Chapter 249
Section 378, Subsection 70, the Council may pass a by-law for
exemption from taxation, except for local improvements and school
purposes, for a period not exceeding ten years; any premises actually
used and occupied as a memorial home, club-house or athletic grounds
by persons who served in the armed forces of Her Majesty or Her Majesty's
allies in any war.
AND WHEREAS the new addition, compr~s~ng Part Lot 2
according to plan 340, for the Town ~f Aurora, is actually used and ·
occupied as a clubhouse by the Aurora Canadian Legion Number 385
by persons who served in the armed forces of Her Majesty or Her
Majesty's Allies in the wars of 1914 to 1918 and 1939 to 1945 and
other wars.
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation is desirous and
deem it expedient to exempt the .said property from taxation except
for local improvements and school purposes for a X~XkE~ period of

NOW THEREFORE THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN 'OF, AURORA ENACTS AS
FOLLOWS:
1, That the new addition,of the Aurora Canadian Legion No.385
comprising of part of Lot 2, according to Plan 340, be and the same
is hereby exempted from taxation, except for local improvements and \ ifl'
(1 school purposes, for a.period of five years from and including
the year 1961.
a. Nothing in this by-law exempts the original building
from taxation.
