OF THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA
BEING A BY-LAW TO FIX THE DAYS FOR NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES AND
POLLING.
WHEREAS Sections 43 (3) and 44 (2) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1960
Provides that the Council may fix the day, time and place for the
meeting of electors to nominate candidates for Council and any Local
Boards or Commission, the members of which are required to be elected
by ballots by the electors,
AND WHEREAS Section 44 (1) (2) of the said Act provides that the
Council may fix the day, time and places for Polling.
AND WHEREAS Section¢ 90 of the said Act Provides that the Council
may fix the day for advance Polls for the purpose of receiving the
vote of voters who expect to be absent from the municipality, or
confined in a hospital, or of election officials who in carrying
out their duties as election officials will be unable to attend
the poll at which they are entitled to vote, on the day fixed for
THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AURORA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The meetings for the nomination of candidates for Council and
for the Aurora Public School Board and the Hydro Electric Commission
of the .Town of Aurora shall be held on the third Thursday
in November at 7. 30 o'clock in the afternoon and at such

2. If more candidates are nominated for an office than are to be

4. This by-law shall remain in force from year to year until
repealed.
5. All By-laws inconsistent with this By-law, be and the same~~
