BY-LAW NUMBER O®F THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF AURORA. BEING A BY-LAW TO FIX THE DAY FOR NOMINATION OF CANDIDATES AND FOR THE POLLING. WHEREAS Section 67, Subsection (1) of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1950, provides that the Council, may not later in the year than the 1at day of Nomember, fix the day for the meeting of electors for the nomination of candidates for Council and for any local ' bO'ard or commission any members of which are to be elected by bt:l.l.lot by the llectors and the day for the polling, provided that the days so fixed occur during the period from the 15th day of November to the 2nd day of January both inclusive, and are other tlJ.an a Sunday or the 24th, 25th ar 31st days of December, and that the day fixed for nominations is not less than seven days prior to the day fized for polling, and the by-law shall remain in force from year to year until repealed, but no such by-law shall be amedded or repealed after the 1st day of November in any. year. THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF AURORA ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:- 1. That the meetings for the nomination of candidates for Council and for the Aurora Public School Board and the Hydro llectric .Commission of The Town of Aurora shall be held~in the Town of Aurora ~t such . c) the local newspaper on at 7.30 o'clock in the afternoon. 2. That if more candidates are nominated for an office than are to be elected, the Returning Officer shall adjourn the ~e.tn<d. at '$U.ch meeting until the fix. at Saturday in December1 following such nomination meeting on which day an election s 1 be held and the polls opened in each polling subdivision between the hours of ten o'clock in the morning and seven p'clock in the afternoon. :;· t ;., I • • ll~y 3.
