BYLAW - Strike the Rates for the Year 1956 - 19560522 - 127056L_ --~ BY-LAW NO. /::Z.7c:c., of the Corporahon of the 'rown of Aurora 1; BY-LAW ro STRIKE THE RATES FOR T:a:E: CORPORATION OF T'H:E TOWN OF / AURORA FOR 1HE Y1MR 19,56. WHEREAS estimates have been prepared showing that the "\ sum of $2~3i,3'Ji;2\.00 is required to be raised for the lawful purposes o£ the corporat~on of the Town of Auxora for the year 19.56. AND )lliEREAS there is required to be raised for special purposes ·!;he sum of $8,090.00 for the sewerage and other debentures under the Local Improvement Act. AND IWEREAS the total assessable property within the &\·· corporation is as follows : Land $1,284,623.00, Buildings $3,.511,331.00, Business $630,.503.00. THEREFORE THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF T"tlE TOWN OF AURORA ENACTS .AS FOLLOWS: 1 There shall be struck, rated, levied and collected upon the assessable land, buildings and business assessment the following rates: General Tax: High School county Purposes Debentures (including public school) Town current Expenditures TO'rAL GENERAL TAX Public school tax (not including debenture) Separate School Tax Mills ,5.7474 6.8619 7 • .5230 14.,5677 3447000 Amount of Levy $ 31,188.00 37,236.00 40,823.00 79. 0.51. 00 $188,298.00 43,27,5.00 1 '7.59. 00 That the said Public School rates (not including Public School debentures) shall be struck , rated, levied and collected upon the land, buildings and business assessment, assessed in the name of those designa'ted in the Collectors Roll as public School supporters. That the said separate School rates.~ t<VIV"~ collected upon the land, buildings and business assessment, assessed in the name of those designated in the Collectors Roll . , J J . -2 - as Separate school Supporters. There shall be struck, rated, levied and collected, a further specia,l rate per foot frontage to raise the sum of i; t>')o.rH> tocover the ratepayers' share of the cost of If·~. . •. i l ·.;~· . . . the corporation's sewerage system, such rate to be in accord- ance with the rates and against the properties decided by ~·----. ..! - ·-the Court of Revision held for such purposes and the Collector's . The Treasurer is hereby authorized to receive on account of the said rates~ payments in advance of the days fixed for the payment of either instalment thereon and the t there shall · be allowed a discount on the whole or any portion of the first instalment of the taxes so paid in advance of the 30th day of . The t the statutory penalty end interest shall be charged on all at the rates not paid on the 31st day of December, 19.56, and such penalty and interest shall be levied and collected ~by the Collector o~ Treasurer as if the same b.a s been originally imposed and formed part of the said rate.
