WHEREAS at least two-thirds in number of the owners representing
at least one half of the value of the lots miable to be specially assessed
and others have petitioned the Council to construct, as a local improvement,
the work hereinafter described, and the clerk has certified that the ~tit ion
is sufficient •
AND WHEREAS it is expedient to grant the prayer of tha Petition in
manner hereinafter provided.

OF AUROHA l!ONACTS AS HlLLOWS:
'i:hat sanitary sewers, having a sectional area of eight inches, be
constructed on Tyler Street from Lot 29 .Plan 30 Westerly to the westerly limit
of iyler street as shown on said Plan 30, for the Town of Aurora, a distance of
405 feet and that private sewer connections be constructed in connection there-
with as local improvements(on petition) under the provisions of The Local
_ Improvement Act.
2. That J~essrs. Proctor, .riedfern & Laughlin be and they are hereby appointed
the Engineers to forthwith make such plans, profiles and specifications and furnish
such information as may be necessary for the making of a contract for the ex-
ect.tion of the said work.
3. That the work shall be carried on and executed under the superintendance
and according to the directions and orders of such engineers.
4. That the Mayor and Clerk are authorized to cause a contract for the con-
structlon of the work to be made and entered into with some psrson or persons, firm

or corporation, subject to the approval of this oouncil to be declared by ,;\C.
.B.esolution.
6. 'i!he :treasurer may agree with any bank: or person for temporary
advances of money to meet the cost of the work periding the completion of it.

e. The debentures to be issued for the loan to be effected to
pay for the cost of the \rorkwhen completed shall bear interest at such rates

as the O()uncil may determine and be made payable within a;::;;"',years on the
instalment plan.
9. Any person whose lot is specially assessed may commute for a
payment in cash, the special rates iraposed thereon by paying the portion of
the cost of construction assessed upon such lot, without the interest, forth-
with after the special assessment roll has been certified by the Olerk, and at ~
any time thereafter by the payment of such sum as when invested at Jc'"&r f,jf)),_ Ce?<J:~
per annum will provide an annuity sufficient to pay the special rates for the
unexpired portion of the te1m as they fall due.

A BY-LAW authorizing the obtaining of temporary advances to meet the cost of certain
works undertaken as a local improvement pending the completion thereof.
WHEREAS the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the of

copy of which is annexed hereto, authorizing the construction of the works described in it as a
local improvement under the provisions of the Local Improvement Act, the estimated cost of

AND WHEREAS it is desirable to agree with a bank for temporary advances to meet the
cost of the said works pending the completion thereof .
. BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the said Council as follows:
1. The Head and Treasurer of the Corporation are hereby authorized to obtain from the
Bank of Montreal temporary advances at a rate or rates not exceeding (? ~ per cent per
annum. represented by a promissory note or. promissory notes or by way of overdraft or otherwise\ "'{'(\ •

· dollars to meet the cost of the said works pendind the completion thereof.
2. A promissory note or notes or other vouchers, sealed with the Corporate Seal and signed
on behalf of the Corporation by the Head and Treasurer thereof, for the advances from time to
time obtained under the authority hereof and interest thereon, may be given to the said Bank
providing for the repayment of or representing the said advances with interest thereon as
aforesaid.
3. The Treasurer of the Corporation is hereby authorized and directed to apply first in
payment of such advances with interest thereon as aforesaid all moneys borrowed on credit
of the Corporation to repay such advances and to defray the cost of the said works a all oneys
from other sources properly applicable to the cost of the said works.
