A BY-LAW TO STRIKE THE RATES IU THE TOWN OF .AURORA FOR THE YEAR 1949.

WHEREAS estimates have been prepared showing that the sum of
is required to be raised for the lmvful purposes of the Corporation
of the Town of Aurora for .the year 1949.
AND \~EREAS there is required to be raised for special purposes

AND WHEREAS the total ~ssessable property within the Corporation

There shall be struck, rated, levied and collected, a :further s:re·cial

rate per foot frontage to raise the sum of $3416.80 to cover the ratepayers share
of the cost. of the Corporation's Sewerage System, such rate to be in accordance
with the rates and against the properties decided by the Court of Revision held Ilor
such purposes and the Collector's Roll shall provide accordingly.

The Treasurer is hereby authorized to receive .. on acc9unt of the said
rates,payments in advance of the days fixed for the payment of eitrer instalment
thereon and that there be a,lla.ved a discount on the whole or any portion of the
first instalment of taxes so paid in advance, of one-half of one percentum for

each month that the said instalment or portion thereof is paid prior to the
day ofJ'~~~l949, and that there be allowed a discount on the whole. of any
portion of the second instalment of the taxes so paid in advance of one half of one
p~ ce~ each month that the said instalment is paid prior to the/f ,,. day c
~ 1949,-notwithstanding that the tax&s for such year have not been levie
that the assessment roll on which the said taxes are to be fixed has not been adopte
the Council, when any such advance payment is made.
That there be impos~ as a penalty, a percentage charge of one half of

That the statutory penaHy and interest shall be charged on all of

be~levied and collected by the Colil;ector or Treasurer as if the same had been
originally imposed and fprmed part of the. said ril.te.
The Clerk shall prepare and deliver the Collector's roll to the

That the Collector is hereby authorised to mail' or caused to be
mailed the notices provided for by Section 109 of The Assessment Act to the
addresses of the residences or places of business of the persons to whom such not
are required to be given.
That the Collector shall, if any instalment of taxes remains unpai~
for_more that fourteen days after the date provided for payment thereof,~rt~it
proceed to collect by distress or other-vise, under the pro visions of the Statute
in that behalf, all suchbtaxes, so in default, together with the percentage there
imposed for a default.
