BY-LAW JroR NUMBEBING THE BUILDilWS AND LOTS IN THE TOWl'l OF AURORA.
WHEREAS by Revised Statutes of Ontario., 1937, Chapter 266,
section 407, Sub-tiections 40 and 41, by-laws may be passed by Councils of
' Urban iilllnicipalities requiring the numbering of buildings and lots along the
highway and for affixing nrunbers to the buildings and for keeping the record
of the streets and numbers.
dN.!! WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the !!!own of aurora
deems· it expedient to pass such a by-law.
NOW TH'IREJroRE THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL OF TEE OOllPORATIOl'l OF THE
· TOWN OF AURORA NNACTS AS FOLLOWS:
le That, early as possible in the year 1949, the buildings and lots
along the highways or streets, within the limits of the Municipal corporation
of the Town of Aurora, be numbered and that the numbers of each building be
affixed thereto.
2. '~hat the expense, incident to the numbering of each building or ~·
lot, be charged to the owner or occupant thereof, so soon thereafter as such
expense has been incurred.
3. That, provided the said expense is not paid by the Owner or occupant
of his building or lot, within sixty days after the expense has been incurred,
the said expense shall be charged against his building or lot and collected in like
manner as the Municipal .taxes.
4. :t'hat, in the event of the expense having been paid by the occupant,
who is a tenant, of any house or lot, subject to any agreement between him and the
owner th!Breof, the occupant or tenant ma.Y deduct such expense from the rent payable
to the owner.
That a record of the·highways or streets and of the numbers of the
buildings or lots be kept in the office of the Clerk of the Corporation, and trere
shall be entered in such record a division of the streets with boundaries and
distances for public inspection •
